Is it safe to level one 4 Star Character?

I have one fully covered 4*, still below level 200. I have 3-4 L166 3* characters. If I max that character out so that I can pwn face in PvP, will that make PvE significantly harder for me? My current alliance is PvE focused so I'm trying not to **** myself.

200 is a good stopping point until you have 10+ lvl 166's. The Scaling in Story mode takes into account boosted characters. A weekly boosted at 140 is around 200+ , at 166 is 240+, so having a non-boosted 200 4* won't hurt you.

Now, for instance, if it is PX, who is boosted next event, you may have some issues.

Which fully covered 4* do you have? Depending on who they may or may not help you in pvp much at all.

I've got Jean - she's no HB but seems pretty alright in PvP so far!

Thanks for the advice, I'll stay at 200 until I get a larger viable roster icon_e_smile.gif

I personally think that the defining factor in PVE scaling is whether you actually use the 4* char. I.e. If you only use lvl 94 chars, you should expect to see lower level opponents. When you use higher level chars you'll see higher level opponents. Its just based on the idea that if your beating the game with a specific set of chars, the game will dynamically increase difficulty.

With respect to leveling, I pesonally would just level him to 167. The only reason is because it helps organize how your chars get displayed in the roster. So for example.

I always try to level my 4* to 167 at a minimum so that it keeps all 4* displayed in a group. I have all my main 3* at 166, then I have a 3 or 4 chars at lvl 121 to remind me that these guys are on my priority upgrade list, then a big group of 120s etc...

The only important level markers are:
220 (This is the cutoff where a buffed 3* chara will tank for a 4*)

There is another level marker that is important to not for when a 2* tanks for a 3* but I forgot it so I'll someone else fill in the details.

Of course when your ready, and you want to take advantage to a particular set of 4* skills, please feel free to upgrade and take advantage of your shiny new toy. I know I really enjoy using a max level HB icon_e_smile.gif

    Good luck
  • I'm heading towards getting all 3/4* characters evenly to 166. (I'm currently @ 151) I feel like I need to stop there because the game won't be fun anymore if PvE gets scaled beyond that. It actually seems that leveling everyone to just 94 gives the best PvE experience. 166 will let me perform okay in PvP. I have taken down a few 350 HBs with boosted 150's.

Too bad PvE levels auto-matched with whatever characters you picked. Maybe you can pick +10%, +25%, ... +100% difficulty and will result in a scaled ISO reward. This allow you to play 1*s again if you felt like it.
