So thanks for the new ui demiurge! Getting access to less information at a glance is perfect!

/sarcasm

I don't really care about moving the alliance button or redesigning the ui frames and buttons, but I can't stand how the bigger event boxes mean I have to scroll around to see more than 1 event. Why is that supposed to be an improvement?

Sometime earlier this summer a forum user posted a model image for an awesome redesigned match ui that would show critical info like ap levels and strongest color. Why not implement that change instead? Let's improve the functionality, rather than worrying if the front page looks sufficiently angular and 2d to match current mobile os design aesthetics.

Just adding my voice to the chorus.

  • Yeah The new screens are Clunky. No problems with moving things around...it's just that things are now too big. This "Big Box" UI is the equivalent of the "Big Button Phone" that's commonly associated with old people.

In the community video for last month they actually talked about the mocked-up UI overhaul, and said that while it looked really good in pictures and on a big (for a phone) screen, that high of an information density got unusable on small devices. Which in retrospect may have been a signal about where they were going with this....

Check out the prologue stuff after update. I cleared mine out long ago but the rewards reset now so I can go back in and get a bunch of ISO, recruit tokens, and Health packs for basically free.

It's possible that I am an outlier, but I have always hated the modern industrial design emphasis on (over)simplicity. I blame Apple and google. Two button mice are just better than one button mice, but stupid Apple has to keep their nice clean design and force all kinds of stupid workarounds. Same with Google maps. I use all those cool features that are now hidden from view behind all kinds of contextual menus.

As for information density, I think the devs are just wrong. It's true that too small can be a real problem. But they absolutely cannot make one solution that works for everyone, and the trend in mobile screen size is obvious: bigger. Why is it better to alienate the growing portion of the user base with big-ish screens by hiding essential information off-screen and trying to make workarounds with the slide-out ap counter (that is obscured by power visual effects half the time)?

Is this all because they are scared to alienate legacy iPhone 4 users?

I looked at that too. I saw there was Iso and specific 1* covers to be had (not Spidey tho). I didn't see any new token nodes pop up tho.
