Deadpool vs MPQ reminded me how great this game is

That is just such a fun PVE event! There's actual strategy behind choosing intereting team combinations trying to juggle between using my fledgling 3-stars vs the old staple two-stars. I had a lot of fun with Squirrel Girl - ***Captain Marvel - OBW team for example.

And I loved taking on Carnage + Doc Ock + Ultron! I used my two-cover Kingpin complemented with Falcon and She-Hulk for boosting and taking away Attack Tiles. Kingpin's Black is also fun with Redwing - surprisingly nice damage even with just the one Black cover since Kingpin was essentialized.

I also took on the evil god trio using the loaner XPool with Beast and Gamora of all things.

Really lookning forward to the Gauntlet once it comes around again as it too forces me to come up with interesting teams.

If you guys do design new PVEs (please do!), try to have varied opposition and interesting combinations that allow you to think outside the box a bit.

Yes, they're good at making interesting nodes.

Problem is: They're fun to play through once.
Not so much fun when you need to grind them down to < 50 Points at the end.

So while the nodes themselves are fun, the grindy nature of PVE itself is not.

So, DP vs MPQ is a reminder of how great this game could be, if they managed to reduce the grind.

The design is for casual play, the reward system is for ultra hardcore MMO raiding time commitments.

Oh aye, I agree that grinding to t25 (even t100 in launch events) is extremely tedious. I was in the happy position where I was perfectly content landing that t150 Kamala Khan cover which makes her usable to me as opposed to getting a new four-star that's going to be sitting useless for a year or more.

I would say that they are fun to play through about three times at least. It's that six or ten times or more that kills the soul. Which, incidentally, is probably why the Dark Avengers are so blah to face.

Oddly not once did Carnage get his black off on me.. ground that stupid node until it was only worth 80 points.

IF, Cyc, KP.. IF nicks away at carnages damage.. collect black and red.. boom, one shot kill carnage.. then, and this happened twice, i had enough for 2 casts of IF purple.. causing black crit cascades that almost 1 shot Ultron Sub-Prime, cyc red to finish him and a cyc black to kill ock.

The node that caused me the most headache was Thunderbolts Mountain.

I missed top 2 by 29 points. This event reminded me of why I don't usually try for top 2.

Still top 10 and all 3 covers, you should see the guys and gals that got 101 or 11 or 21.

i was #22 because of my neighbor wanting to vent about his chicken. Not a joke... missed last 12 minutes of grinding, was #19 when he knocked.
