Time to quit!

Can't say it much better than this. There are good alliances out there and there are bad ones. If you enjoy the game then keep searching for the alliance that is right for you. Read their recruiting threads and see if their personalities and requirements (if any) match yours. Good luck to you.0 -
To add to the Devils comments, different alliances have different goals.
For example if I get 900 points every pvp my alliance has no problems, but if I joined Xmen 1 and put up 900, they would likely boot me.
Ask yourself this question: if everyone scored like me how would we be doing? If you would still have enough to be top 100 you most likely won't be booted. If you would be way out of top 100 sounds like you were free riding a bit and commanders generally don't like that regardless of where they are0 -
Sorry to hear you missing out on two 4* covers thanks to a boot from two different alliances. My best advice is you pay for what you get. I'm in a casual alliance, and the last time I checked, I'm the best player (cover-wise anyways) in the group. I don't consider myself all that great either, especially with all the noob mistakes I made at the beginning. That being said, I just appreciate the ISO bonus, which isn't that much (60 ISO average), standard token rewards, and being able to participate in the Ultron event. I could join another alliance, but I simply don't want all that responsibility attached to playing a game. I want the freedom to coast if I want to coast. With a wife and child, there are things more important in life than this game. I still enjoy playing and leveling my characters, albeit at a slow pace. I win some covers, miss out on some covers (especially as of late), but it is what it is. At least it's on me. I push hard for some PVP events, and once I close in on 4k for the 10-pack, you won't see me in PVP anymore except for maybe 400 points to get the Heroic token and 25 HP. I'm not beefing with alliance mates over points, placements, or any of that other stuff. THAT would definitely ruin this game for me. I understand your desire to quit, but if you like it, maybe you should go casual for some time before moving up to the BIG leagues of cutthroat alliances that kick you for petty things. Perhaps, like you said, you can start your own alliance and maybe it will give you a different perspective. Who knows, you may find yourself having to make the decision to kick someone and see the other end of the coin. For me, you'll find me in Little League with perhaps a big league roster.0

We have a little group of alliances, one for PVP top 100, one for PVE top 100, and two casual (noobs and mid-tier). We shuffle around depending on who is on a break, who isn't playing an event because they don't need the covers, giving others a chance to get covers, etc. We always hit top 100, and if more than 20 people want the cover and have the min score, we have relationships with other Alliances that we can temporarily merc members out to for the event. It's a nice group of people and a wonderful social experience. I enjoy it because of the people and because if you need a break, you can step off into the lower groups and give your spot to someone else and you aren't bringing the group down.
On 4* events, we take the top 20 scores of the group of alliances, and the rest we try to find temporary spaces for in other friendly alliances that can use the scores. For season ending, again, we take the top 20 scores of the group, and we try to find temporary homes for the remaining decent scores. I was low man last season with 9K and they found me a spot on a friendly alliance that was around 90+ rank. And when the season was done, I came back home.
It's like a family, but in this case, you can choose your family... it just may take a few tries.0 -
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe I was one of the leaders of the first Alliance of Kelly's that fell apart. I tried to work out a merger with another Alliance, but many folks didn't want to come over. That was during the Jean Grey event.
And before that in the Ant Man event, I had to kick low scoring players and sub in Mercs at the last minute because if I hadn't, no one would have gotten a cover. Instead I had to boot 1 or two people so that the rest of the Alliance who had been working hard could actually get an Alliance reward.
I'm happy to NOT be a leader in my new Alliance, but I have great respect for what it takes to make sure things work the best for the most possible people. It ain't easy, and some feathers are going to get ruffled.0 -

And if expectations are clear, and communication is honest and frequent, no one can really fault a commander for making the hard call. Honestly goes a long way - without it, even a really good alliance can end up toxic.0 -
I wish I could be part of a good Alliance. A few weeks ago when I was really into it I was finishing regularly in the top 100 in PvP.
I got really tempted to quit when my shields didn't seem to work, and then I lost like 10 matches in a row.0 -

Almost tempted to go create one, just for fun.
I created one a while ago with my mobile roster just so a friend would be able to be in an alliance with someone he knew instead of with 19 randoms.
Only people I've removed are people who just flat don't log in. Which reminds me, I should cull the herd again at some point here, we've been stuck on 11/20 people playing for a while.0 -
Please allow me to shed some light on the situation based on a past experience with elicits. I have run with the elicits group before. During the Antman PVE we were ranked in the 60's going into the last day. After other alliances picked up mercs we missed the top 100 and finished 106. After missing the antman award, I know that the commander would do what was necessary going forward to not let it happen again. If you're not scoring between 2.5x and 3x the progression award, you might get dropped from most top 100 alliances during 4* events. For what it's worth, I can assure you it's nothing personal, just a MPQ event with a 4* award on the line. Keep beefing up your roster, aiming for 2.5-3x the progression awards in PVE events and there are many alliance who will recruit you for future events. Good luck and I hope you stick around.0
