How long did it take you to max out your first 4*

Hi I'm currently in the transition stage of 2 star to 3 star and now I have also got a few low level 4 stars.

I hardly get any 4 star covers and only seem to get them from PVE events. I can't hit 1000 points in PVP I get to like 700 and get destroyed every time plus the matches are just to hard to defeat.

Also I'm against pumping money into this game.

So how long did it take ?

I've been playing this game for a little over a year and I'm yet to max out any of my 4 stars. The one that I have the most of is Wolverine Xforce, and that is only because of 1 or 2 lucky token pulls and a whole bunch of daily rewards. The pull rates for 4*s are extremely low, so it's a small miracle that you'll get one. Usually, the plan is to grind like hell in a 4* event for up to three covers (an extra one if you have a pretty good alliance) then have that character sit useless in you roster until he's boosted as an essential for another event.

But that's just my experience, though. There may be one or two 100% free to play people that are extremely lucky and managed to have enough covers drop to max out a 4* in the way they wanted, but I haven't ever met one.

I'm f2p. For a long time I just got 4*s from occasional token pulls - actually the most consistent source for me besides new character pves.

I worked on my 3* roster, then, somehow at some point I didn't notice, I started hitting progressions regularly and now I'm kind of confused by how many well-covered 4*s I have. Take your time and build your roster. When you're ready the covers will come.

If we're talking level 270. . . NEVER. The reason is that since I play competitively in pve, I wouldn't ruin my scaling by maxing out my 4 . As far as max covering goes, it depends on your luck. I've had some lucky pulls for 4 (like carnage green). Basically, your best bet to get covers is to participate in pve events & get the event tokens since they seem to have a better draw rate for the good stuff.

318 days in and still no maxed 4*s but that doesn't mean anything anymore. This season is the first time I've hit 1000 in pvp in the 10 months I've been playing and I'm doing it with buffed 3*s so just keep ur roster diverse and strong and you'll be collecting your 800, 900 and 1000 rewards sooner than you'll think.

For me, it was about at 10 months. I never went to 270 though, I stopped at 250. X-Force Wolverine. I lucked into some covers in pulls. I managed to get 4hor just after the nerf.

Ultimately, the moment you get one, the rest become far easier. I have four done now, and three more on the way, plus Elektra fully covered, which will see no ISO until she's fixed. Hold tight, nobody needs to buy covers.

Day 400 (something) and still no Max covered 4*. Closest I have is a 10 cover Wolverine and 8 covered Invisible Woman.

Day 640 something - no max covered 4*s. I'm not even a true f2p since I've purchased hero points for roster slots to keep a very deep and diverse stable of characters (16 level 166 3*s and everyone else except Yelena, Carnage, and Jean Grey). But I'm not a heavy PVP or PVE player. The amount of time and energy it takes to get a 4* is overcosted for my play style. I want to get in and out for a few minutes each day. Even reaching 1000 points in PVP takes dedication. I've done it a few times, but ultimately I don't enjoy playing the meta game (PVP with shield hopping or PVE with optimal grinding). I like the match 3 game that rewards many different play styles and strategies. I'm not a fan of the MPQ meta game of competing against other people who are much more dedicated. The Gauntlet or the recent Ant-Man rollout are more up my alley.

FTR - X-Force & IW with 11 covers, Fury with 10, everyone else not worth mentioning

I am also F2P and could have done it about 100 days ago, maybe more, but as others have mentioned, you might be better off not maxing your 4*. I'm now day 536 and still no maxed 4*s.

Instead, where 4*s are concerned I have cover maxed XF (lv252, has been there for well over 100 days), 4Thor (lv236), and Elektra (lv166), with a 4/3/5 Dino (lv232), and a 4/4/4 Fury at lv167. I could put iso into all of them and feel good about it without maxing as I still think investing in 3*s has value when paired with a select few 4*s.

Completely F2P player, covered max my Fury at day 550+ (based on the time of my post in his character thread), correctly specced him out about a month later. Have never gotten 1000pt progression or placed first in any PVE or PVP, so all these covers are gotten solely from daily rewards and token drops. Kinda lucky I would say, I have him at lvl 190 now and I use him on a pretty semi-regular basis.

I consider myself as having pretty decent luck only with older 4*s. Gotten XF up to 4/3/4 before his nerf, IW currently at 10 covers, 7 Star Lord covers this year already, only TGT has been harder to come by. Meanwhile, anything beyond and including Prof X has never appeared from tokens, which kinda sucks because I actually want Prof X and HB

It took me about 11 months to max cover my XForce. I wanted to level him to 270 but then the nerfs came along so that stopped it right there. Also around that time, they started doing weekly buffs so I decided that it was a better move to put ISO into the 3*s instead.

I maxed out HB about a month ago though, and I recently did end up leveling XForce to 270 as well.

There are babies being born today who will become parents themselves before I fully cover a 4*, let alone max their levels, unless 4* get significantly easier to acquire.

got lucky with xforce when he was bad 431 when he got boosted i bought to 551 he is the furthest 4*. i have not gotten a single cover since, no maxed 4* yet. fury is coming along nicely 242 got him from daily.

Closing in on my first year and I have yet to cover a 4*. My most covered is at 7 covers, all throug daily rewards and tokens.

Something to keep in mind while interpretting the results in this thread is how long someone is playing. There are currently 14 4* + Devil Dino. When I started playing there were only three. Untill there's a DDQ equivalent for 4* it will be harder and harder to cover one as they add 4* to the pool. While the devs have made it a bit easier to get them, they have yet to compensate for the added diversity imo.

Day 244, and I just finished covering my second 4* (Hulkbuster), and I finished Carnage about a week or two ago. I did buy four covers for HB, but got Carnage through PVP/PVE/one or two out of tokens. The current rate of 4* progression has greatly improved in the last few seasons, and I expect to see newer players reaching this quicker than me in future. Now just need some ISO to get them max-levelled!

I would luv to max cover Dino since I think it's such a cool character. LOL But I can't justify the cost of buying covers for him, since Dino would never appear from a token.

Almost same as me. I'm on day 399 (yellow fury tomorrow), 11 cover WXF, 10 cover HB, 8 cover PX and the rest have less but at least 2.
