1000 pts progress reward( PX yellow) is my primary target. I'm going to stop after that , though i want starlod cover too.0

Again with the motif of not giving the AI a choice when playing my team in defence, Moon Roach is going with level 160 5/3/5 Torch (soon to be 166), level 170 5/5/3 Nick Fury, and level 168 4/0/3 Professor X.
In my initial climb past 300 I got some remarkably easy wins against maxed 166 teams. Though it's not the best offensive team I could use. (I've been using only HT, 5/5/3 Daken and 5/5/3 Falcon (both 166) in Enemy, and it's been a breeze, so maybe that's an option here.)0 -
Thankfully the fistbusters AI is using inferno ... unfortunately, the fistbusters AI is using inferno every 3 turns.....
This feels like a goon fed maxed Torch node in a horrific nightmare PVE.
gotta get me some IMHB covers, IF just needs iso.. but it is getting hard to compete in some of these.0 -
Blade is actually pretty good against fist buster. Use black to steal red0

Got 9xx score, didn't shield immediately, then I was attacked and lost nearly 200 pts within 1 or 2 mins....so close to professor X cover and now I have to face fistbusters again0

I've been using my 3/5/5, 180th level Thing all week, and I'm barely getting attacked (and winning defensively about half the time). I'm going to miss him being extra-boosted when he's gone.0

wow, this is kinda highlighting how much stronger the newer characters are than the old school ones. cyclops and torch should be similar characters - similar damage dealing levels. the Cyclops event was pretty easy for me - matches went quickly and made 1K without any boosted help. this one seems much harder and i swear after every match torch needs a health pack and sometimes it takes so long that my other characters do too. it doesn't help that my last match on my push today ended up in a loss and i had 2 hits coming out of that one. that hurt. not sure i make 1K here but going to still try and push later and see where i get to.0

Some characters are more PvE than PvP-oriented, though. Though I'll admit Cyke is essentially a better version of Torch, I'd much rather bring Torch to PvE survival nodes, since his black and green will both keep doing quite a bit of damage round after round (especially when paired with a strike tile generator, like Daken in EotS), and he has a strong, cheap red to take out immediate threats. Cyke will do one or two big hits before he needs to recharge his red and black AP again, whis is fantastic in PvP, but not nearly as helpful in survival nodes. Whereas the buffed Torch/Daken/Falcon team has made this smoothest EotS run yet for me, leaving me with health packs to spare after the end of each sub.
But we'll see how it'll go when I start his PvE later. It helps that I have him maxed, because I used to run him with a Daken/Patch combo way back before the Xforce boost, and that I have a 553 build for him, so even if the AI goes for Inferno over HB's black, it'll still do quite a bit of damage.0 -

Since I was forced to use torch in PVE with him being powered up, sure, he can do dmg....but besides his red everything is risky. Much rather take many, many other characters.0 -
I know it's strange to support Torch's worst ability, but it's working wonderfully for both O and D. It feels a lot like a Daken/Blade comp but I feel I end matches quicker and I don't have to cross my fingers for a good board. I'm using Witch and IF to feed black and because Inferno isn't spammable due to tile placement, I often get to punch people with the extra pink Ap which always feels good. Woke up to 5 wins and 3 losses which is not bad. I imagine my attackers raging from all the fists and cascades and that humors me lol.0

Yeah, having Daken and Falcon buffed this event really gave Inferno a chance to shine. A couple of Inspirations and the damage is outpacing Fireball. Not bad!0 -
i started with mags/loki but ended up going fist/loki, leaving blue and yellow on the table. fist just really helps, especially against daken and falcon - let them spam strikes and then flip them with the black - i even flipped a bird strike - that was nice. not the best but at 991 and should hit 1K here if i can finish one more match before the hit registers. can't believe both of my last 2 hops I've been able to get 2 matches in one late last night and one early this morning, and matches haven't really been that quick (my loki, opposing teams falcon - not made for speed). i hate fielding a pvp team with 2 colors left on the table but it seems to work some how (horrible on defense though).
edit: i would have ran daken if i had 2 more black covers on him (of course then he would be leveled to 140). as he is, he's just as likely to hurt himself as to heal so he stays where he is for now. and my falcon is still 120 and he's way down the priority list for leveling.0 -
Stuck with Falcon, Daken and Torch for the whole event. Despite his flaws, kinda like torch. His green can get nasty and do a ton of damage.
Loki got completed also which is a plus. Use him all the time.0 -
I must have the worst luck picking time shard brackets. Every time I'm in PVP it's tough as H-E-double hockey sticks to even hit the 800 mark. On the other side, this shard was the first time I've seen a forumite in my bracket.0

got to 800 points then got attack and failed against hulkbuster(sigh), hoping to shield hop to 1000, have some matches actually worth points that'll get me very close if not over.
All on stream of course if anyone wants to see enemy lineups and what I do against them(hint: powered up characters suck this time around rofl)0
