Ha! It should be a free 10000 for everyone after the last week.i ain't spending money unless its like one cent per hundred iso, because the devs don't deserve my money.0

Hey I really want to buy some ISO. Not NOW, but if this game gets some unbroken pve sure thing.
The problem being... at the current rates? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no.
Seriously, max level on a 3* has the same cost OF A WHOLE FREAKING PS4.

I think we need a little more than an ISO-8 sale. I really think they need to drop the prices of boosts and/or level up cost of heroes.
My gameplay options:
1) Play a few rounds without using boosts. Hope to win and save those 70-140 ISO-8 rewards per match if I win. I'll probably get a few more ISO-8 rewards from climbing the tournament ranks. 500-750 ISO-8 maybe. Maybe, just maybe, I'll have enough to increase ONE level of my main characters (1200+ ISO-8 per level). I don't see a point in dumping the ISO to level a low level 3* with low covers because even if I leveled it up, the 3* character is still too low to join my main team. Meaning it won't help me progress any further. If I level my main, I'll run out of Heals fast due to not using boosts.
2) Play and win more rounds by using boosts and going up against teams ranked higher. I'll win more rounds but my ISO-8 will decrease gradually. By the time I'm out of ISO-8 (meaning out of boosts), I'd have played more games and be ranked higher than "Option 1". However, my ISO-8 will be close to 0. NO leveling possible at all. By the end of the tourney, I'll get some ISO-8, usually trash covers (sell for some more ISO-8), and wait for the next tourney. Repeat. STILL zero leveling possible. It's just a vicious cycle.
Option 1 seems like a smarter idea, but that limits the numbers of games I can play by a lot. If I lose one match, that's 3 Heals out of 5 gone. I don't have backup characters high enough to replace my main, so I'm forced to revive my fallen main characters. If I lose another match, I have 2 heals left, so maybe I can revive 2 and use any backup I have. I'll probably end up losing the next one because of the **** third. Now I can't play until my Heals are back up. This is why I choose Option 2.
In order to break out of this and actually make any kind of progress with my game, I'll need to purchase ISO-8. Is this how the devs intended the "free-to-play" game? I've already spent over $100 on the game and I'm still struggling like I haven't spent a dime. I thought I was making SOME progress before the last update. Then BAM, they took all that away, shoves a knife behind my back and says "Give me more money or you're not playing this game.".
I think ISO-8 (or lack thereof) is a bigger problem than the nerfs. It's like the game is on pause. I haven't been able to level my characters since the update. Is anyone else having this problem?
What can I do to break out of this cycle? Is cash really the only answer? ISO-8 cost is not even funny at the moment. $99.99 of ISO-8 won't even get you 1 maxed character, assuming you even have the covers to begin with. How much cash are we forced to spend to be able to enjoy the game at a challenging level? I'm not asking to be able to breeze through and hit rank 1 on every tourney. I just want some progress where I feel like my time, effort and money were rewarded fairly.
I started playing this game because I didn't want to spend $600 on a new Xbox One + a game. By the time I spend enough cash to enjoy MPQ, it'll probably equal the cost of Xbox One AND PS4.
Screw you devs. I say devs should refund ALL our micro-transactions, so we can stay the f' away from this game for good.
Tired of hearing us complain? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Undo the "update". Give us respec options. If you're too dumb to implement this feature, STOP changing stuff around for the worse. Instead, "balance" the unpopular characters. Figure out why they're unpopular. And lower the costs of boosts back down to reasonable prices. Although it's a free-to-play game, we KNOW you need money to develop the game and feed your family. Guess what? We were spending money and supporting you, BEFORE the patch. You got greedy and made everything player unfriendly. How's your sales now? Are you making more money than before? I highly doubt it.0 -
That's all spot on Lex82. In particular I have had serious ISO problems since the patch and occasionally giving me 200 for a win isn't going to fix that.
I have so many characters that will never, ever see the light of day in my team because I'll never have the opportunity to level them. How can I level my Magneto Now! to 85 (68k ISO) when I have to level my 3* characters because my MMR means I need them to win games, to get ISO, to level my characters?
Using ISO as a limiting factor is strange to me. Levelling through ISO isn't the fun part of the game, playing matches and levelling covers is. ISO should be bountiful and spending £69.99 on a single character from 6-85 is ludicrous.0 -
Relevant. Not the first time it's been suggested, nor likely the last, but since that absence was pointed out to me I'm inclined to harp on it until someone explains what makes MPQ different from every other Progress Quest interface variant that it shouldn't sell boosts with the rest of them.Lex82 wrote:I think ISO-8 (or lack thereof) is a bigger problem than the nerfs. I don't know how much you've participated in the last two PvE events, but a lot of the issue just now is that, if you were locked out of them early or entirely as some were, you're being denied the free ISO fountain of previous events.
The two things you didn't mention are Prologue healing and Lightning Rounds. It's not ideal to burn down health packs unless you're trying to push your rating up as fast as possible before or between shielding. Even if you don't have a usable OBW or Spider-Man to do it, Venom and Oscorp in the Prologue give you a loaner at various levels that'll do until you have better. Doesn't help with ISO (ok: gets you 20) and is pretty dull, but it is the only obvious way to bypass health pack cooldowns without spending 200HP every 5.
The other thing is to jump on as many Lightning Rounds as you can fit in. Join them early, as soon as they open if you can, and smack around the easy seed teams for sub-1-minute matches that pay out the same as a regular one, plus progression awards up to 100 or even 250 if you feel like maybe having to scrap a bit. The seed teams are mostly entirely trivial to beat, and you can often cycle through them more than once before anyone else in your MMR range actually competing even shows up. Real matches at low rating in LRs are also usually fairly quick, because a lot of people still won't have the featured character at any worthwhile level unlike, say, a Thor tournament.
It's still ridiculously slow. These are just, as far as I know, what most people do to grab free ISO for less effort than you've been expending. You do get ISO from playing in regular tournaments early, which I tend to do just for enjoyment without worrying about rating until time to end matches my shield budget, but fighting people's legit teams is obviously slower than slapping around Bacon Magic and frowny jonah, and you get the progression awards only once, whereas you can have them from as many LRs as you manage to enter.
I suspect the LRs are intended to do this, because it gives anyone a reason to enter them and be points fodder for the relative handful actually trying to place in any given one. They'd be dead, otherwise.0 -
Just saying, this NHB tournament would have been the perfect time to persuade me to dip into my pocket.

What if you could earn more Iso at the end of each Event battle?
Not just simply raising the amount you earn, but instead of just collecting 140 or 70 Iso giving you a single move on a board of Iso. Each piece on the board would represent earning 10 or 20 Iso. No extra turns, no powers, just a single move. This would lead to in general a 3 match move (earning around 60 Iso at 20 per piece), but with chains could lead to a landslide more. If the developers were feeling really generous, they could even occasionally throw in a piece worth HP (worth only between 1 & 5 HP depending on frequency.)0 -
I've got a bunch of "projects" I'm working on now - characters I want to level up - and decided to calculate how much ISO it would cost to do all of them.
Level 2 65th 2*s to 85 - about 30k each, for a total of 60k
Level patch at least up to 85 from 70, at about 20K
Level 2 75th 2*s to 85 - about 15k each, for a total of 30K
Level Hulk from 66 to 77 - about 14k
Level Doom from 40 to 64 - about 20k
Level Daredevil from 45 to 51 - about 5k
Total - about 150k ISO, which - admittedly - is a lot. Even at 5k a day - which, with events lately being what they are, probably isn't realistic - would take a month to accumulate.
So I thought I'd look at buying ISO. While I didn't expect to get all of it in one go, I thought I might be able to make a dent in it. I haven't bought anything since my early roster spots (which I have enough of now for the time being), so it seemed reasonable to maybe throw $5 or even $20.
150k would cost me about $300. Spending even $20 would be a drop in the bucket. Spending $5 wouldn't even take care of Daredevil.
So, nope. Not spending a cent. The conversion rate is terrible. I think $5 should be a minimum of 5,000 ISO, and probably 10,000, considering how much ISO it takes to level someone up once you hit mid-game.0 -
Time to put my money where my mouth is0

Still thinking that HALF a PS4 is not good value, expecially if offered for 2 days only.
Better than a roundhouse kick in the face, obviously, but the value is still not there IMO.
Happy for you anyway0
