Another thing that also clues you in: people trying to give a reason why she is sexualized that has nothing to do with her character's motivations. "Other characters are too" and "that's how many comic book characters look" are key straw mans to let you know that the character is definitely hyper sexualized, because those excuses are not excuses. What those are really saying that it's a big, big problem and it goes far beyond this character, and they are right. It's a serious issue with the entire comic book industry, but they are working - very slowly - to fix it.

Mystique is a character who isn't afraid to use her sexuality to meet her objectives. I don't know what you think needs to be fixed here. Believe it or not, women in real life have ****, and some of them use their sexuality to get what they want (just like Mystique).

To give the devs credit, Mystique is probably the LAST overly sexualized character they released. Since her, there's been a slew of really good character art and design: Squirrel Girl, Scarlet Witch, and Kamala Khan have all been extremely good (Thor's and Gamora's boobplates being the two low points since Mystique). So even this game is trying to get better - slowly. They just haven't gone back to change any of the particularly bad images.

Kamala Khan is good character art? She looks like a 40 year old bag lady rather than the teenaged girl she's supposed to be.

Honestly, I would be more offended if the devs caved to any SJWesque demands that made the art less like what is in the Marvel comics than if they went the opposite direction and made the women *more* sexualized. I am disappointed that Scarlet Witch's costume is not the classic red leotard.

This whole rant reminds me of a Fraiser episode where everyone dresses up as their hero. Roz misunderstands the theme of the party and comes dressed as a super hero (Wonder Woman). Everyone laughs at her, but when she was asked who her real hero is, she admits to admiring WW. And why not? She's smart, beautiful, and strong.

What's wrong with being beautiful, sexy, *and* heroic? Or is this one of those "pick 2" situations where you can't be both strong and beautiful? Or beautiful and smart?

Believe it or not, I was talking about other arguments. You'll notice the part you quoted doesn't say anything against what you just said. But to address what you said, "some women in real life look like X" - yes. But in the comic industry, nearly ALL women look the same. That's the problem. The men have a HUGE variety when it comes to body types, shapes, and sizes. Women have nearly exclusively one.

Note to OP: as soon as someone accuses you of being a SJW you also know you are right. This indicates all they can do is attack you as a person instead of your arguments.

I second this. nowadays people calling about SJW or any equivalent is the same as reaching the Godwin point for me.

As for mystique i do not find her oversexuallised. I'd say Moonstone is over the top, but what can they do with this outfit... Mystique's animations are "regularly" sexualised as far as comics imagery go. This is true for both males and females character though it more often goes creepy with the females (i don't mind sexy powerful, but sometimes it goes into the realm of sexy submissive and I'm not a fan). Since comics are the base material for MPQ, the real question is are comics oversexualised and that's a can of worm not worth opening here (my answer : not always, unfortunately when it is, it goes so over the top it's not even funny).

Infiltration is an absolute must for that attack's name, given Mystique's abilities let her perform all sorts of spy activities.

You could just as easily name Masterstroke "Drop this Disguise", but it's not really all that big a deal. I'd say Master Plan, but doesn't Charles already have that?
"Drop the Disguise" doesn't really make sense though since she can use it when disguised or otherwise. Anyway I think Masterstroke is a pretty cool name and doesn't really have any sexual connotation unless your name is Beavis or Butt-head.

Admittedly less than mature forumites said that. I don't know them, of course.
