I don't know how to explain this to you gently Dathui but this is not World Of Warcraft it is Marvel Puzzle Quest and it allegedly role playing links are classed as tenuous at best. World Of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role playing game, Puzzle Quest is a match 3 gem based game there is a somewhat small difference, sorry to break it to you but someone had to do it.

So called veterans (those who are able to score at least 1000 points in PvP) have their 4* advantage already in the game mode which again has a very tenuous title of player vs player (but really AI), it is in this game mode that no0bz will struggle against veteran player (or somebody who is willing to drop a few thousand pounds to buy a roster). Story based events are not time effective for building a roster this has been confirmed, however for those nice shiny new character releases. If you are seriously considering locking a certain section of the player base from competing for new character releases? If so what would be your criteria for allowing players to enter new character PvE's? Numbers of days played, roster size, average roster level are just plain old money spent?

If you reread my opening, from the very start I said:

In any other game, the high end players are the only ones who have access to high end items/equipment due to how the system of the game works, most often a "level" system. In these for example, a character shouldn't be able to kill a boss/monster that has this high level equipment, thus can't obtain it, on top of level restrictions on the equipment itself.

Not just WoW, or even MMORPGs, most games, especially competative phone games, operate in a way where veterans play for veteran rewards. Most people can relate to WoW so it was a good analogy to work with.

Sure, PVE for 3*s isn't as fast as PVP. But remember 4*s are a completely different field. Why do you think there are so many complaints about the 4* transition that even the developers have noted and are trying to work on.

To new players all characters are new if they don't have it yet, so I don't see it as locking them out but rather giving prizes appropriate to rosters. Playing a new 4* PVE and ending up with a 3* they need is what should be happening so competitive/casual veterans can progress at a better pace. This is part of the 4* transition problem, and anyone trying to transition to 4* can see it and gets frustrated with it.
  • People in failing to realize the point: 4*s ARE needed as essentials but they SHOULD NOT, like it used to be.

You need a 4* just because... You need a 4*. It doesn't adds anything to the lower end of the players. Even a 8 cover 4* is useless compared to a 10/13 or more 3*, and in some cases even a 13/13 2* can be vastly superior.

It makes the newer players NEED more and more slots just for the sake of having that single cover 4* to get the covers for their 3*s.

In DDQ, nodes require star.png , star.pngstar.png characters. In pve events, essentials now require star.pngstar.png , star.pngstar.pngstar.png , and star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png characters. It's D3's way of pushing players to buy slots and carry bigger rosters. Slot sales are a significant source of revenue for them from longer term players, and so it makes sense to change pve events to require star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png characters as well.

Dauthi, time to agree to disagree.

I'm just thankful you're not a developer on this game.
