How do character levels affect PvE and PvP scalling?
I'm sure I read an explanation somewhere but I have been searching awhile to find this answer and came up with little to nothing.
I am under the impression the nodes in PvE start at a level somehow based on your top leveled character(s) in your roster. So, for example, if your highest lvl character is 144 which is 40 lvls higher than your next highest character, you would essentially start off with nodes that the rest of your roster couldn't handle. Thus you are screwed. This would then encourage ppl to level up characters in groups or even leveling entire rosters together.
Is this true? I have capped my characters at 112 so that I can essentially use most of my roster together instead of maxing out 3 characters and only being able to use just those 3 when it comes to high level matches. I want to bring characters to higher levels but I don't want to have to neglect the rest of my roster.
Also, what kind of effect do levels have on PvP matches?

Here's a snippet from the game 's PvE code
if (character > 94) {
game mode = "punish"
And one from PvP
if (character > 94) {
game mode = "lol 240/290/240"0 -

The pve subs are usually split into 3 trivial/easy, 3 essentials, and 3 normal/hard rated. You start off at the lower levels but global scaling will push the nodes up in level. The AI looks at your highest character level, FACTORING IN ANY BUFFED CHARACTER LEVEL into the node scaling. For example, Kamala Khan is buffed for this event, and a 166 translates to 240 for this event. Assuming that's your roster's highest character level, scaling will base off that 240 number.
I don't have the exact numbers for the ratings, but just using that 240 number for my pve, I've seen levels up to 120 be considered trivial, 75% of that rated easy, above that as normal, and 125% of that as hard. Again the key number is your highest character level, after buffing is factored in.
Add: Since D3 is using a , , and for essentials now, if your roster has a maxed and that character (i.e. Thora for The Hunt) is buffed for the pve event, then your normal rating will be low 300s and trivial nodes will be ~160s. So this is how carrying maxed 270 characters will screw your scaling for pve events.0
