If I have Storm 150, Thoress 160, Hood 123.....

....in that exact composition, with Storm on the left, Thoress in the middle, and The Hood on the right, shouldn't Thoress be tanking all blues and Team Up tiles?
I just did Jump Jets with them and Storm was blasted to bits, because she was tanking almost every color.

4hor is terrible with the Hood0

Are those levels before or after boosts?
Despite claims that match damage was "evened out" to put boosted 3*s in line with 4*s, match damage at 240 still goes to 3*s at 85/76/66 vs 82/73/64 for 270 4*. So level is not the best indicator.
If you really want to bring Hood to these fights make a level 40 version that can't be boosted into matching colors.0 -
........wat?
I am simply asking about WHO TANKS WHAT, as far as team character order / placement goes.
As in, if your highest leveled / boosted character is in the middle, they tank the most colors and Team Up Tiles, then left character, then right character.
If it's a tie on levels, again, it's middle, left, right, correct?
Thus........why on earth was my 150 Storm tanking more than my 160 Thoress?0 -
As I understand it, it's based on tile damage first, then placement (left, center, right). So it's not important, per se, that Storm is level 150; what's important is what her blue tile strike damage is compared to the others.
At least that's my understanding.0 -
I think what everyone means is it's not just the level of the character, it's the damage per color, then the tiebreaker is the location. Storm is at 63 for blue, pre-boost, and thoress is 54 so storm gets blue regardless of level or position. They both do 10 purple so center position should be the character. Hope this helps. It's my understanding of it.0

It's match damage, but keep in mind that there are decimal places in there that are not shown.
So if Storm 150 is 58 yellow (or whatever it is), and Thoress also is 58, Storm might be 58.3 and Thoress 58.2, so position won't matter.
The only time you can be sure of a tie is two characters of same rarity at same level.0 -

level/boost don't matter only dmg0 -
I have the last person on my block list, but thank you to the previous three posters. I have never experienced this in my 220 days of playing. And I specifically pay attention to who's hitting on what before EVERY battle I've ever played, so I guess I previously only selected those who's levels and tile damage coincide with what I wanted. Or something. lol.
Thanks again. :+)0 -

Hood is YBlueBlack, 4hor is RYBlue, unless Hood is massively underleveled he'll always tank yellow + blue for Thor.TLCstormz wrote:........wat?

Ties can't occur between different rarities. I believe a lower rarity will always tank for a higher rarity if the numbers look like a tie (with the exception being 4*s get an extra 2 levels before their tie overcomes a 3*)
** They changed it so that 4* scale incredibly well match damage wise after 270. A 280 Carnage is +3/+2/+2 match damage for only 10 extra levels. A (320+?) 4* can now tank for a 240 3*.0 -
You also need to realize that a 150 3* is closer to max than a 160 4* meaning that the 3* colors are closer to max than the 4*. A 4* doesn't overtake a max 3* until the 220 range so just because it's a higher level doesn't mean it will automatically tank.0

also that a 4*s match damage is laughable0

I always get confused and its too cumbersome to keep flashing back and comparing so if it maters I run them in a quick prologue mission to see who tanks what0

For the most part the characters cover order is their tanking priority (especially for the newer characters), there are some exceptions (CMag, GSBW, Daken, Deadpool, Loki, Doom of the top of my head). 140/138/117 I believe are the level break points for 166 3*'s to tank over a 3* with higher priority.0 -
You could probably just check the wiki for that since they have the numbers for most levels except for when the character is boosted beyond its usual level cap.
For those numbers that "look" the same, it isn't the same and there's normally a decimal.
For 4* that takes about 4 levels to increase the particular stat from say 50 to 51, i would normally count the first level as 50.25, next level 50.5, next level 50.75 and 51.
For 2* that takes about 2 levels to increase that particular stat from say 50 to 51, i would normally count the first level as 50.5.
For 3* takes 3 levels and so on...
That's why typically 2* with the "similar looking" match damage number usually actually is HIGHER than a 3* or 4* with the same match damage cos of the decimals.0
