With the Marvel Universe about to be completely re-written (again), here is a little something to help you understand the chaos (which is amazing fun to read)

and here is to hoping when they end Dark Reign, we get Battleworld!!

Is there a good place to read the synopsis of the back story to this? I'm enjoying the first issue but my God I feel like I've jumped into a book at chapter 6 without reading 1-5.

The final issue of Ultimate spidey (miles morales) was the lead in for Secret Wars

The twelfth and final issue of Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man concluded with a cliffhanger that led directly into the 2015 "Secret Wars" storyline.

    Also
here is the Secret Wars (2015) wiki

good luck on that one.. The synopsis is decent, but the rest is all over the place.

    Thanks for the links.
What's weird is Forbidden Planet, the place I have started getting books from, has issue 1 and 3 for sale, but not 2 and 4.

I'm forever getting into these things late.

I know this is an event comic, but I'm hoping I'm not going to get screwed over on story by not purchasing all of the side stories and such. I'm going to be getting the Thors series simply because Thoress is in it and I wanna see more of her. Any word on when her story continues, do you know? I know she'll be in the new Avengers, but has that started yet and if so what's it called?

When my local is out of something, i head to atomicavenue they tend to have what i've missed, and i can usually grab a reader copy (under NM) of newer releases for under a buck or so.. or one for the collection (prefer nm+)

hate plugging a place, but just tryin to help.

Do you know if they ship to the UK, and if not, is there a similar UK based comic store thingy?
I had to ebay it up to get my missing Thor: Goddess of Thunder issues.

atomicave is an ebay with no bidding, comic books only, and has sellers from all over the world.. i have not gotten some from there because shipping from the UK to the US for 10 $1 books was $19 lol

I usually jump on ComicVine if I find myself wanting to know something comic book related.

Going to read this link later, this set of ars is probably the most interesting in a long time imo. Thanks for sharing!

I am hoping they have some major fun with Devil Dino, Arkon is an odd choice, but works well!

Jonathan Hickman is a really good writer, what he did in his FF run is really spectacular (best run in FF since John Byrne!). He always writes very epic stories. He s been building this Secret Wars event for years in the Avengers (you really need to read Avengers and New Avengers to understand what is happening, all his New Avengers run and Time is running out for the rest).

I have just read the #3 number and everything is quite good, a little bit weird with the different reigns inside Battleworld, but really promising. I really hope this event doesn't have the same problem than the last Marvel events ( more worried in building something for the after event, than the event itself, it is the same since Civil War and House of M, I don t remember which one was first icon_razz.gif ).

PS: But I reaaaaally hate what they did to Tony Starck with the Axis Inversion and Superior IM storyline. Really really a disaster for the character.

Meaning...Marvel likes to spend more time with heroes fighting other heroes than actually having a Good vs Evil punch up with all of their villains?

...hey, maybe that's why villains are so rare in this game.

Nooooo, that was not the problem! icon_razz.gif

In all the last, being last like 10 years, Marvel events they start talking about and event, they build hype, then the event cames, the first numbers ofnthe event build some very big confrontation but in the last numbers, instead of reaching a good end for the event, they are more worried with the after event.

    SPOILERS!

For example, Civil War was more worried about killing cap, and setting Tony as new director of shield than having a good ending. House of M was all about 'no more mutants', Secret Invasion leaving Norman Osborn as new boss of Shield, etc, etc.

None of these events really end, they are just a 'to be continued'

The goal of secret wars is to reset and merge all the different marvel universes into 1 single universe. When this is over, no more Ultimate universer, no more 616, etc..

1 Marvel universe, all titles relaunched late Aug, early Oct at #1.

Who is that artist? That looks an awful lot like recycled Todd McFarlane art (who recycled his own art frequently):
