Sold Your Thor/Wolverine?

Please stop crying about it, I understand it sucks and honestly I do kind of feel bad for you, they waved some iso and hp in your face and you took it. Please stop complaining about it though. Since I started playing a couple months back(steam version) they have been two of the most consistently boosted characters in events(and quite a few tourneys too). Why did you think that was going to change? Promoting diversity in the characters you need is one of the only things the devs are currently doing right. The **** is how expensive character slots get towards the end, the fact there is still no respec, or how bad they screwed up scaling in the last event and current one were/are and several other things.
There are plenty of things still worse than "I sold my Wolverine and/or Thor, and now they are using them in stuff" because you should have known better. They've been using them this whole time. I know I am just complaining about complainers which doesn't make me much better but I am tired of seeing those complaints when they are much worse things happening or that happened(the timing of the nerf for one). You decided to sell it for the increased rewards because you didn't like the changes, that was your bad not theirs. The increased sell price was a good move on their part and I hope they continue to do it(at least until a respec is offered) because you should get stuff back if they change something but what makes you think that you should get it both ways?
I get that your pissed, if I decided to sell mine I would be too. The difference is that I would be pissed at myself for selling it not the devs for increasing the sell price then continuing to use them in events.

Didn't sell mine, now in first place on Thor tourney!0

100% agreed.
No idea why anyone would sell a 2* for HALF of the ISO invested. Expecially as they are still much better than your average 2* garbage (Moonstone anyone?) and as being in the "AVENGERS" group, they did and will be featured a hell lot.
And ISO being scarce to a joke.
At a 100% ISO refund I might even have considered selling them, and probably still passed for at least Wolvie. At 50%? No chance.0 -

Incidentally, the HP was just about free if you were never nuts enough to buy an upgrade on them with it. You can't sell 2* covers for HP.0 -
I sold mine because I suddenly found myself loaded with a ton of 3 star covers with no ISO to level them, I do not really regret that choice but this current PVE event is impossible because of their character selection if you don't have a high Wolverine or DD0

Wolverine isn't the character that is allowing people to do well in this event, I kept mine and have less than 200 points because my mobs are 230 and I don't have my Spidey or Grey Suit Widow covers maxed. Even then I would probably skip the event since it is taking the people that have those characters maxed about 15-30 minutes a match to complete one which doesn't sound fun in the slightest. Anyway that event is completely off topic.
I am glad to see people that sold theirs owning their decision though.0 -
I admit I sold mine.
I regret nothing. It did cripple my game in the short term with the Thor/Wolvie tourneys admittedly. However, I think it was good in the long term to get that ISO so that I could work on the team I really wanted to play as.0 -

Having Wolverine hardly helps in this broken PVE.
And in general, no one was forced to sell, I guess most people made a good judgement wherther that half-ISO is worth it or not. A doubt anyone sold it to use the ISO for a replacemente thor/Wolv. immediately but to put it elsewhere, and that character being redundant ATM and if being rebuilt is's on back burner.
(Yet announcing the upcoming event would be only fair.)0 -
Good point i agree.
What i find ridiculous is that there are people that honestly believe devs nerfed Thor/Wolverine ,then decided to increase their selling price just to bait them into selling, so they could not play the two tourneys we had this weekend.
The reality is devs made those two tourneys now since they couldnt do it before..not before they balanced Thor and Wolverine. Now since those two are balanced, they could make tourneys with them buffed, and even give Thor covers as rewards in the previous events. Also the tourneys with those two serve the purpose of testing if the balancing was succesful, and motivate us into testing how they feel, and what teams we could use them now.
I find it absurd to think that the devs are specially out there, thinking on how to trick and mess with us. They didnt allow you to sell Thor/Wolverine at a good price to trick you into doing it, just so you couldnt play the game . They did that to allow you on getting a decent amount of iso/hp to invest into others, in case Thor or Wolverine are not to your liking anymore, or they would not fit your team after the changes.0 -

You get this with video games in general, but I think the us & them, they're out to get us attitude is even more prevalent with f2p. I don't know why anyone picks the model and puts themselves through it, but apparently big fat wads of cash fall out when it works, so that's probably reason enough. Also makes sense for multiplayer stuff that's going to feel dead if only people willing to pay up front are playing.
Old Thor was buffed in Divine Champions, albeit "only" to 200%, so it's not really that they couldn't pre-nerf. **Wolverine was buffed in TaT, too. I agree the obvious reason for the tournaments is to get people to use them in their new state, though.0 -

That one always made me giggle a bit when I read it. Paranoia much? I also wonder what these people think they are accomplishing. If I was the dev I know I would be a lot more apt to listen to the opinions of people who use reason, not the guys going "y u hate me so bad, devzz I sell thor cause you offer so much now he in turny...YOU TRAPPED ME". Honestly I start to read stuff like that and just skip the post and figure devs probably do the same.pasa_ wrote:(Yet announcing the upcoming event would be only fair.)
Totally agree with this I wish they were a lot more open about upcoming events, including who is going to be buffed and who is required for certain missions.0 -

Great post Yeah, those pesky Villains with their extravagant moustaches, having joy into tricking us and making our favorite marvel heroes die to maggia henchmen.
I know old Thor was buffed in divine champions, but he wasnt a mandatory part as in the current pvp tourney. I got a top 15 ending and i've avoided every team that had Thor in it, as many others did.
Now since the balancing, i was really glad they handed out Thor covers in the Punisher tourney, before that i didnt had a complete Thor0 -
I'm glad I sold mine, level 100 Punisher and Spiderman have helped me get top 2's in several LR's.
However, I really want grey suit black widow, and currently have a 2/1/1 Thor, so.. that's gonna be tough.0 -
Glad to see that some people that sold them are happy with their decisions, nicer to hear that people got to level some new stuff that they wanted to and aren't just moaning they can't do the tournaments now.0
-
I sold both and couldn't be happier with the decision. Pumped up Hood above 100 and it's so cool when the opposing team can't get a single ability to fire during the match. Then use Spidey or Mags for some defense tiles and come out without a scratch. Even at half price selling 2* is a great deal for those that moved on to 3*s.
I already have 2* wolvie up to 1/1/1 and one Thor cover.
I hated the Thor events anyway. Only competed in the first one.0 -
I love that someone finally made a thread just about this, it's refreshing. I regret that I sold my Wolvy and Thor, but it was actually a couple months ago just because I got tired of running into Thorverine teams all day every day. With them being balanced I'm actually more inclined to run ** wolverine now. This is definitely a bumpy ride, but I like where this game is headed, slowly but surely.0

I sold Thor the second day of the offer. His build wasn't ideal and he was low level so I didn't lose much ISO and gained some HP in the process.
Wolverine was sold today when I returned home from a 2 day vacation. Taking a break from everything, especially from the game, felt was good. I didn't miss it at all. Post sale, I have to admit I feel a little bad he is no longer part of the roster, but since I find his yellow pathetic and his green almost insulting to Wolverine's reputation I knew I had little use for him, other than events. However, a hero that is only convenient when he is buffed is most likely a burden than an asset.
So I decided to go for the ISO and the HP. Since I have no intention on spending any money on the game I used the HP to open 2 more roster slots, the first for Daredevil and the second for a 2nd Patch in case I regret the 3/5/5 or find a use in the future for a 5/3/5. Since a second more aggressive build may work better with another duo so he could still find a place in a team. My current Patch is only level 55 and I want to test him some more before I throw the 40k ISO I have on him or choose to spend it on Punisher who is still 16lv 3/4/3.0 -
Congratulations on the thor winners who will be getting more of the same covers that they have already maxed. In the meantime, i told thor to level up my OBW and magnetos. Seriously, use thor in the pvp so i can have an easy time whooping your butts and grabbing your points.
Wolverine is still pretty good in my opinion. I wreck teams with him.
Besides, if they do patch thor again to be as good as he used to, i can just spend my 100+ recruit tokens to get him back up to max level in no time. They throw thor at me like it's going out of style. And it did.0 -

So patch is only useful if you have high level loki? Got yah. I did fight a team like that once. Jesus was it ever so hard. All my strike tiles became defense tiles and all my spidey defense tiles became his strike tiles. Granted they still weren't going to kill me in 2 hits but I was taking forever to kill his team. The most important thing in this game is the ability to last. High level characters with 9000 life with sucky powers are still good because even efficient killers can't kill them.0 -

For Patch, the 5/3/5 just doesn't fit my play style which I assume will stay the same even after future nerfs (Spidey is 15 3/2/1 and I for this reason I don't use him at all). I am a hybrid of the cautious type who is scared by a potential +900 to enemy matches, and the impatient type who is bored having 9 green AP, but wait until the ideal moment comes to use his green. I want my Wolverine to feel like a brute, not a mastermind planning and plotting. When he can punch he punches.0
