Carnage Bug: Alien Instincts triggers on AI move w/no target

Bug summary:
Carnage Alien Instincts is triggering when the AI (and possibly user as well?) attempts to use an ability with no legal targets (e.g. Loki Trickery when there are no Strike or Protect tiles), i.e. the AI has the required AP to use the ability but isn't able to due to lack of targets, but the Carnage trigger is happening anyways.
Situation details:
Carnage PvP event.
I had Ares, LazyCap, and loaner Carnage (with ).
Opponent had Ares, Loki, and loaner Carnage (with ).
Many turns into the game (opponent's Ares is down), and board is filled with tons of Attack tiles, but no Strike or Protect tiles.
I make a match-3 and my turn ends (no abilities used). Immediately at the start of AI's turn, Alien Instincts triggers and then AI makes a match-3 and ends turn (no abilities used, but AI did have 13 so enough to cast Loki Trickery, if it had legal targets).
Same thing happens on the next pair of turns (no abilities by me, no abilities by AI, but Alien Instincts triggers again on AI turn). Next turn I killed Loki (leaving just Carnage), and Alien Instincts didn't trigger on AI turn.
I have not had a chance to observe whether this bug also exists for the User-side, i.e. if the user attempts to use an ability with no legal targets.
I recall hearing about a similar bug in the past with Kamala Khan's heal trigger, so hopefully this should be quick and easy to fix.

This just happened to me against a team with Loki. The whole board quickly filled with attack tiles.0

Any idea if this bug works in our favor (we use loki and they have no valid targets?)0

Carnage is definitely bugged.
Opponent had Loki and Carnage. AI had tons of black AP but no valid target for Trickery. However, Carnage fired off his attack tiles EVERY SINGLE AI TURN, including those where no ability was used.
I'm sure it would happen with other abilities too - basically even though the AI can't target a valid tile with an ability, Carnage passive fires anyway (without any AP or ability used).
This just wiped my team in PVP and it was super annoying - whole board was flooded with attack tiles.
I'm hoping a RED will see this and can tell us it will be fixed soon - worst case with next release.0 -
You can use this in your favor as well, if you use loki and try to use his black with no target, you can get carnage to go off0

I saw this too. In a PVP match where the AI had a Johnny Storm green power team-up, it appeared that Alien Instincts was triggering every time that the Countdown triggered. The other team did have Loki, so it may have actually been the Trickery power as described in this thread.0

Torch's green doesn't fire it, I've used that team.
I've been having it happen primarily when there are minions on the enemy team, sometimes ONLY minions. Glad I'm not the only one because they didn't seem to believe my bug report with multiple examples.0 -

it will fire anytime a minion puts out a CD tile, as that is considered using an ability.0 -

But Carnage firing his passive when AI tries a move that has no target is undoubtedly a bug, otherwise it could be exploited pretty easily by both character and AI alike using a move like Loki Trickery repeatedly. In fact I imagine that a player could do this repeatedly until Carnage attack files completely fill the board.0 -

Well this happened AGAINST me in Slice & Dice PVP - the AI used Trickery every single turn (but didn't deplete any Black AP cause I didn't have any special tiles out), thus flooding the board with Carnage attack tiles. I don't have a Carnage cover personally so I can't try it. But if someone does then take them into prologue or simulator, collect , and then repeatedly fire Trickery with no valid Strike/Protect tiles and I'd guess you can do some evil things all in one turn.0
