Board Interaction during Power Selection

Is there a way to disable board interaction while the power selection screen is active? More than once I've mis-tapped when selecting a power and either selected a tile on the board (which I can't see behind the power overlay) or actually swiped and matched blindly in the background, thus advancing the turn instead of firing off my power. None of these instances have cost me a match, but they're still annoying. This is on the Android platform - I can't confirm if the issue is also present on the Apple devices.
