Ugh.

Big Enchilada has been way difficult this time around for some strange reason with my usual 2* Thor/Stormento team using +2 boosts for b/p/r/y.
I can barely get out of the first wave with enough AP much less health to start the 2nd and have wiped either in wave 2 or 3.
The countdown tiles come out quick and I can't seem to clear them fast enough since they eventually get placed into a unreachable spot so the damage adds up quick.
Wind up having to use powers which helps sometimes but hurts in that I have to rebuild AP which doesn't seem to go fast enough before the countdown spamming begins again.
Good thing I don't need the Storm green but even so this is getting effing stupid that these non-board moving enemies destroying my teams so easily.

For the higher HP goon nodes, you may need OBW for CD tile management and stealing. For today, those pistols go off way too fast, bring the guy in the back to the front, use OBW and match blue / purple. With green/yellow feeder goons, you can steal enough AP for Thor along the way.

I definitely took damage, but was able to spread it around enough to finish. that group needs purple, red, yellow to get going. once you start shaking the board and getting your ap, it gets easier, but thugs are the fastest way to damage they have. fortunately it isn't one shots like hitmen can be (but those are loads slower). I think I took 4 pistols today and gave one to each character and either thor or mags got the second - can't remember.

I've found that OBW/3 Cap/ Loki make the best Big Enchilada team for me against any wave, but especially against Goons. "Oh, please Mr. Muscle.. Threaten me!" *casts Trickery* "Oh... look at that... all your Strike tiles are now my Protect tiles..."

they got a threaten off before i could clear the ninja tiles.. my 3Thor died a horrible death, electra double cross team up after firing punisher green (since thor was of no help) cleared the last 3 ninja tiles, then a pun black, which by the time i hit round 4, i was doing 1900 a turn.. 3x pun black aoe, a green to DP, a green to Gorgon.. which cascaded into another pun black(hood was long dead).. then one shot each from pun red and all done... they never got a turn in round 4 with only Punisher alive and having a whopping 1300hp left...

I love and hate those moments. Oddly enough, my last similarly epic battle ended with cStorm vs. Gorgon (who I HATE facing) in Wave 4.

She ended up with just north of ONE HUNDRED health, and Gorgon? Well, he was DEAD.

Now for a (sorta) joke for the Under the Sea and Third Time's The Charm: I have a favorite 2* team for that - Thor, Ares and OBW. I call it Two Gods, A Girl and A Pizza Place. Only people of a certain age may get that joke.

I'm also wearing armor to withstand any tomatoes you hurl my way.

Edit: Just realized that there's a tie-in here. The joke is based on the show "Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place"... which starred Ryan Reynolds... who now is playing... wait for it... wait for it... Deadpool. Bam. Thank you.

What sadistic bastard designed wave 1 today?!

My first attempt was a spectacular failure; I took out the ninjas first, only to have one Threaten CD tile resolve. BLAM! 1000+ attack damage every turn. OBW dead. Retreated.

My second attempt was a skin-of-my-teeth success. All three heroes were below 600 HP early in round 2 (thanks you stupid ninjas for leaving lots of red for Punisher & Marvel to work with!) and I didn't think I would make it. A lucky Lightning Storm cleared the last ninja tile off the board and I was able to fire an Anti-Gravity device to salvage the situation.

So OBW, Storm, and Thor emerge bleeding & battered but victorious, and Groot now has his third yellow.

I was prepared to retreat after the first wave. I had my OBW/3 Cap/ Loki team, which has always been successful for me. Before I knew it, Loki, who is my goon protection, was dead, Cap badly injured and OBW on the ropes. I was prepared to hit the "Retreat" button when I hear Cap's voice in my head: "Avengers do NOT quit! We go down fighting!" So I kept on going and I was able to get some blue matches going, which then helped OBW control the countdown tiles while simultaneously healing both of them. Cap got some yellows and was able to get some protect tiles up and then after a bit of a dicey second wave, since OBW couldn't find any purples to get Aggressive Recon going, they splurged on AP from the Maggia Boss in the third wave before making the fourth wave a relative mockery.

So... I guess the moral is... don't quit!

definitely. I've lost thor before in my thormneto team and still finished. sometimes barely but can be done. lose storm and you're toast, mags would be hard, but thor can be gotten around, but he sure helps.

I agree on not retreating. You're likely to have dead heroes regardless, so might as well go out in a blaze of glory fitting of a viking (or avenger)...

I forget who mentioned this, but at one point I didn't realize how helpful the Maggia Boss could be...

These days, I save him for last and kill him solely with match damage, milking him like an AP cow before finally downing him with a power to end the wave... 30s for all at the start of Wave 4!

I feel like it's my (very satisfying, BTW) revenge for the stupid difficulty of Wave 1...

DD is one of my core. I wish i had more Cyclops yellow though, still at 1 cover, but get a few trap tiles out, and a couple stun countdowns.. like Cap he is a slow stater, but nothing like taking down all 3 goons in nodes in TBE with 4 matches with trap tiles out.. you find yourself hoping the AI doesn't match them so you can keep doing it.

His blue, each time you fire it off, it creates a CD tile.. you can actually perma stun a team if you time it right.
