SHIELD Sim may finally have been fixed to be more reasonable after the debacle that it was the last couple of seasons.
I see 5 seed teams (a random 1-cover 2* or 3* plus the usual 2 1*) all worth 38 points apiece to start.0 -

It may be an easier climb to grab a bunch of 1* covers no one needs, but unless the point threshold for where you take absolute losses has been adjusted, it's still going to take a bit of effort from a 3-4* roster to get to the 3* rewards. The usual practice for this has been to try and push a week or so out for the covers if you want them, and then allow yourself to fall, making a final push in the last day to your desired point total.
I'm glad I don't actually need either of the 3* covers this season so I won't feel bad if I don't even do the climb to 1900 for the HPittance.0 -
Can anyone update their season bracket and how many people are in it?0

Hey, why did he get stickied and I didn't?0

I stickied it when I created it. I started typing it up probably around the time you posted your placeholder. When I finished it, your post was there but still basically blank.
Fair enough. I hope the jesting tone came across.0 -
wow. what is up with season ranks vs. scoring for the first event? I scored 702, came in 62nd in my event group. and I'm ranked 1905 in my season bracket???? is this what a 'death bracket' is? last season I finished with 6575pts and came in 174th (2 t25's, 1 t50, and 7 t100's, and a few hundred pts in sim). I figured scoring was higher with the increases match points but dang.0

I would guess that lots of people in your bracket had already started the 2nd event and you hadn't yet. Maybe?0 -
My Season XV bracket is at 2501 players. Leader currently is Par95 with 1534. I'm in 40th with 744.0

anyone else experience 1000 pts not landing t25? had that happen to an alliance member in the ms marvel event. new point system is definitely creating more points out there. or maybe 1000 being outside t25 is more common than I know about, but last season made t25 with ~730 twice.
edit: everything basically has gone up - 'normals' have shifted and I've now hit 1000 for the first time. love the new system, but man it eats hp like candy.0 -

I hardly ever make it to 1000, but I've had two events so far this season where I shielded at slightly over 800 and wound up outside the t100. In past seasons, 800 would have been safely inside the t25 for most events, let alone the t100.0 -

With the way the points changed it's substantially easier to hit high points, which means lots more people are hitting them. With my typical play style in previous seasons I'd generally hit 1000, on 1-2 shields, and that was almost always a top 5-10 finish an 800 score could sometimes get into top 10. I now hit 1000 without any shields fairly regularly, and those 1-2 shields will get me 11-1200, which is still typically a top 5-10 finish. In Blade pvp I used a total of 4 shields and ended up with 1458 which was my highest point total since the old days of no shield cooldowns and pre-nerf SexGoddess.
1000 is the old 800, or maybe even 700+. You don't get to hit 1000 without much difficulty and expect that no one else will do the same giving you easy progressions and placement. Placement is still going to most of the same players, the only thing that has changed is more people are getting to the 3* cover, and the 4* cover.0 -

Something tells me I may be in a death bracket. Top scorers are all xmen and crewsaders sitting on 12k season scores.
Just ignoring the shield sim now until it is fixed. In its current state it is not worth the effort and besides feels good getting a season ten pack without topping up and there is the added bonus of not waking up to 1point retaliations.
Seriously once you enter that shield sim there is no way out. Even ignoring does not work. Tried it. Every PvP event after that you start getting hut in the shield sim again.0 -

Anyone else seeing weird scoring in Shield Simulator? I picked a match for 45 points (after several skips) and was only awarded 6...was hoping to make another push to stay in top 100 for the season, and not sure if that's going to work now (currently in 89th).0

I've said this many times. The scoring is out the window. What is worse is that you'll get attacked by some guy with say a 270 hulkbuster, a 166 hood, and a 250 xf and lose 30 points, then if you beat them back you get 4 points as a reward.
So the E-Z bake oven is set to level "window licker" this round. I was top 10 for a long time, and then in the simulator I kept getting NUKED by teams with normally 2 X high level 4 star people and someone like cage or hood as someone in the background to shut the match down. Furthermore, I can't be that unique. Why? I've worked decently hard on the PVPs but not really that hard, and I'm set to finish top 20 in the season. This new buffing of more than 1 character has thrown a wrench into the "feature" pvps - especially given the back matchmaking and buffed 4 star characters ( wait what?).
I would log back on and see me losing 200 points, and if I were to beat all the guys to beat me I would at best recover the points I lost - and given many were more powerful than my team I would just skip them. So I've been treading water in simulator for the last 5 days at least.
So yeah, unsurprisingly, something does stink with the scoring. With the matchmaking, with the ongoing series of efforts to "balance the game."
p.s. if the crack development team wasn't aware of this, iron fist's purple power unfairly feeds hulkbuster's black overdrive power, which feeds his red power which ends up being, if not a 1 hitter quitter, 1 of the most powerful single attacks in the game. An attack which is made infinitely easier to pull off, twice a match anyways, by the purple attack of iron fist - look at how little AP it costs. Great move guys. Great move.0
