PvP and PvE = Clusterfrak

I would just like to say it's frustrating as hell to attempt PvP right now, setting aside the abysmal clusterfrak that has made the post-patch PvE unplayable to me as well.

Firstly, PvP.
I have a low to mid-level roster. The highest level of any of my heroes is 50.
I'd estimate that over 90% of my PvP match-ups are proposed against teams comprising 3x levels 85 or higher.
This is uncool, unfun and bordering on unplayable.
Sure I might limp through a match against said team 30+ frakking levels above me with one hero left alive, but this is quite unacceptable in my opinion.
Why can't I be matched with people having teams with their average or highest hero +/- 5 to 10 levels of the average or highest level hero of my team?
Does this seem like an unreasonable request?
Why is a level-based system not already in place? You know, to make it competitive?
Within the parameters of the current system, adding a skip tax would be a belligerent kick in the nuts.

Secondly, PvE.
Post-patch PvE has become virtually unplayable.
I struggled through the recent Thick as Thieves event after the patch and watched my rankings tumble down considerably without much recourse.
Fine, I grumbled but dealt with it, because at least I had access to almost my whole roster available to die repeatedly and had performed reasonably well pre-patch.

However, now this Heroic shambles event is testing my patience.
I played the first mission which was set at level 40. Fine.
The next mission was set at level 110.
Set this task with an incomplete, unbuffed and weak roster I cannot get past this second mission. The second mission.
My whole limited roster dead multiple times. The second frakking mission!
Not having Spiderman or Grey Suit Black Widow or some other requirement doesn't help I suppose, but seriously, this is not cool, nor fun.

What has become of this game?
Having finished the prologue there is nothing left that I can play, when both PvP and PvE events are virtually unplayable.

I regret having spent money on this game, as someone who at first dropped a few bucks here and there to increase roster slots, but then - stupidly in hindsight - forked out for the Nick Fury's Doomsday Plan DLC a few days before the Thick as Thieves event. Bad timing to say the least.

What is the incentive to continue playing if the whole frakking game is broken?

Until some of these issues are addressed I won't be spending another cent on this game, besides the 2 cents in this post.
I probably won't post again but just had to vent my utter frustration and cynicism to the developers, so thanks if you got this far. icon_e_ugeek.gif

  • The matchmaking is so broken it isn't even funny. I can related to your complaint about barely surviving the match. Right now the fun factor has taken a major hit. I played about 1/3 as much as I have been today if that. When the ISO Tax drops it will kill it for me icon_e_sad.gif When you have to cycle through more than 20 people on average to find a team where they aren't 1.5x your level or they don't have a member who is much higher and can 1 shot your team is a long process. So when you are paying 200 ISO on average before finding an opponent you can survive and keep playing what is the point when the max reward is 200 ISO?
  • What impressed me most about your post was you just registered and already know how to circumvent the censor system. Frakking impressive
  • I'll tell you what's funny about pvp.

I just became the kind of a-hole that I hate the most, by attacking the same guy 3 times cos the comp won't assign a different group to me.

    The irony.....

You got to fight what you can win against because the AI Defense rarely wins any.

To be fair most of us don't hate those people, just the system that forces that situation on them.

There are exceptions of course but chances are whoever it was understands.
  • Battlestar galactica reference? Frakking awesome!

Yeah my strategy is typically attack the same person as many times as the game will possibly let me in a row to avoid multiple retaliations. (Bad psyko!, I guess?)

I don't feel as bad about that as I used to. I'll beat them twice for 18 points each, and they'll hit me back for 36. So it all evens out, and everybody's...happy? No, that's not the word.

What I love is taking someone on for 30 points and coming out of the match having 2 pages of people hitting you for 20 - 30 pts each. That always makes my day.
