Suggestion for the quitters: Take a break

Still seeing the regular number of quit-posts and just want to suggest that folks maybe just take a break. Give it a week or a month and then come back to see how it's going.

Maybe it gets worse in that week/month and it's even easier to continue the break, but maybe things look better and you come back to having fun.

I just wonder why folks immediately jump to quitting a recreational activity that has a proven record of being engaging and amusing.

Just take a break, folks.

To be fair, a lot of the Quality of Life changes have been extremely recently and are still being worked on (see: things like the current run of Sim, etc).

I wasn't saying it actually had gotten worse, I was commenting on the OP's theory. icon_e_wink.gif

P.S. Don't get me started on how awesome the current Sim is, or else I'll miss out on refreshing the 3 out of 9 nodes I have a chance at beating... icon_lol.gif

  • Great suggestion for all those who basically are burnt out or somehow got "screwed" over in some way and felt a need to post a exaggerated goodbye. There are a great many of those whom very much thought many times of quitting, I admit this as well, but haven't or are drawn back to this "flawed", yet appealing game that is challenging, irritating but has enough of that fun factor that keeps the masses coming back for more. As suggested, take a break. There are more important things in life to be had and concerned about.

I never posted a quitting thread, but I cut my playing by 50%. HP is way down, I came in top 100 this season instead of top 10, but I enjoy things more. Possibly I will play this longer in the long term, but the company won't be getting any more money out of me. I thought I was paying them fairly each time I bought Hp, but it turns out they were milking me, and I won't have any more of that.

I'm a casual player now, and can enjoy things a lot better. Not looking forward to the next 3* though. 700 HP per slot is ridiculous.
  • Still seeing what to do, but off season is already a break for me
the simulator experience and the brilliant idea of a 2* featured have wondering more about a definitive break, things only get more annoying

The main problem for me, is the lack of endgame, with devs throwing 3* and 4* all weeks, quitting now or the next month is the same

We're always chasing the new rabbit, and with 2* featured the slot issues got worse

  • This is kind of missing the point. People quit because they astutely perceive that the game is a grindy mess and a waste of time that could be doing something more enjoyable. I did take a break of something like 6-8 months and came back for the Taco's. I've been playing somewhat more since Ultron, but they really haven't fixed PvE, and they've destroyed PvP again. I'd like to think they're taking the game in a more positive direction, but it really doesn't seem that way.

Just remember quitters go to meetings. MPQ is an addiction, those who quite come back for there fix sooner rather than latter. Overall them game is very addictive and when you look at the collection aspect, alliance aspect, and tournament stay of play it is a good game model. I think the better way to take a break is to just rage quite an event. Take that event easier if you are getting blown up too often. Most alliances will be understanding and a lot of alliances have gotten to be more specialized.

My overall point is this don't go to meetings, don't be a quitter let your MPQ addition run your life icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yeah, this is my difficulty. I expect to play the game for fun and at less than a professional or full-time level, which often seems inconsistent with what the devs seem to expect, and they also seem very reluctant to make the game more friendly, preferring to cater to gambling addicts than people who want to play the game. I love the game mechanics, but hate the aggressive monetization that tries to hook you into playing more than is reasonable.

This really isn't about any one event, but the pattern in this game of the devs somehow thinking it's morally acceptable to try to get people addicted to the game, rather than just making the game fun. I refuse to play the game their way, but it's very hard sometimes. There's a reason most vets have left and moved on.
