The preview is up for The Simulator, and it's showing next week's boosted characters. Right now it's only showing four 3*s: Falcon, Gamora, Luke Cage (yay) and Sentry (boo). Up until now it's been five per week. Change to the system, or did someone get left out? My iso wants to know!

I came up with that theory too after I posed. But so far they've avoided having overlaps like that.

Yeah, I dunno why the hate for Gamora. Plan your team right and you can crack skulls all week long.

because before the big boosts she tanked no colors and thus did nothing.

But that's just it. Gamora is only good if you plan your team around her.

The top tier characters (Iron fist, cage, lazy thor, etc) are good more or less no matter how your build your team (obviously taking sentry, lazy thor, and patch is a weak team because they only cover 3 colors, so team composition isn't unimportant, but thor will still kick **** in that team if you get the right ap).

If your team isn't custom built to make gamora work perfectly, then she just isn't very good (she is either totally crippled if she is 3/5/5 or 5/3/5, or a mediocre 2 power character if 5/5/3).

She isn't terrible, but she is harder to use to that the top tiers. that's why she gets a lot of grief.

So is this the week that we all finally agree that these buffed characters suck? star.png

I hope that was facetious panda. Any week of boosted characters that includes a buffed Luke Cage does not suck (except when you are forced to fight a boatload of 240 cages).

That would be the week when Beast, Doc Ock, Spidey and Quicksilver are buffed.

This week is still pretty doable with Gamora, Sentry and Cage. And Falcon helps out with special tiles

Boosted gamora is top tier, and using her is "play black first and use random low cost abilities".
  • Well, I for one am gonna give Sentry / Falcon / Gamora a shot, just for the sheer fun of it. icon_mrgreen.gif World Rupture should be glorious (once it goes off, that is...).

For the deadpool pvp how about Cage/Deadpool/Hood. Hood is not boosted but how are you going to kill him with cage blocking match damage and deadpool blocking ability damage?

In my opinion, that's the only way to play gamora ever. And when boosted, this strategy is very effective, if a bit slow. I stand by my statement that the reason gamora is disliked is because she must be used in a very specific way to get maximum value out of her. that kind of situational power is the biggest differentiator between the best characters and the "meh" characters. (and the trash tier characters are the ones that can't even produce solid value if you try to build a team for them).

It's a good point. I wouldn't do Hood, but the last slot is freed up to add anyone decent on your roster. I'm actually considering using buffed 1/2* (storm, thor) to soft climb. icon_mrgreen.gif
  • I think Gamora is disliked in part because her black power only works if she's at least tied with the highest power on the team, and the game has been incredibly miserly in handing out her black power, keeping people both from getting her to 166 and from being able to do anything with her black.

Can someone loan me a yellow cover for Falcon... 0/2/1 makes him sad, and sad birds mess up your windshield.
