Please Help With My Roster
Hello everybody, I could really use your help with my roster... I'm pretty new and there's a lot that I don't know about this game... I have Indestructible Hulk(with his green power) on the bench which I'd really like to add, but I'm not sure who I should replace... I also have 2 Dark Reign Ms. Marvel(both black powers) though I was thinking about selling those... This is my current roster:
4 *
Nick Fury - Director Of S.H.I.E.L.D. 0/0/1
Wolverine - X-Force 1/0/0
3*
Loki - Dark Reign 1/0/0
Dr. Doom - Classic 1/0/0
Ragnarok - Dark Avengers 1/0/0
2 *
Thor - Marvel Now 2/1/1
Black Widow - Original 1/1/0
Storm - Classic 1/2/0
Ares - Dark Avengers 1/0/0
Magneto - Marvel Now 2/0/0
Wolverine - Astonishing X-Men 0/1/0
Daken - Dark Avengers 1/0/1
1 *
Iron Man - M35 4/3/5
Storm - Modern 5/3/4
Black Widow - Modern 5/4/0
Juggernaut - Classic 2/2/0
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Once you have completed the initial storyline, you can get rid of 1* black widow, her 2* will be easy to cover and you will not be using the 1* anymore .
Ragnarok is really only good for tokens when it is his turn in deadpool daily, and he is not too rare.. since you have only 1 cover, i would take hulk over ragnarok any day of the week.0 -
I agree with malcrof here. for where you're at, I'd say either fury or rags (fury is cool to have at your stage and might be useful here or there when you're running 1*s but he will quickly lose his usefulness and will just sit there for months and months. I have all but 2 of the ****s and none are useful and none will be useful any time soon (day 166). loki and doom are good ***s and hulk has his place too. ultimately you'll want to finish and max jugs and he will end up being the only 1* you have on your roster in a couple months but for now im35/storm/mbw are all useful for you. eventually your **s will replace those.
if you can, play the seed teams in lightning rounds. if you get in right at the beginning you'll get some seed teams that you can beat even with a * roster. you get a loaner character for the middle (took me a while to find that out) and you basically use 2 characters from your roster. I've noticed lately that there are a ton of ** drops after the lightning round matches. its happened very often lately for me so maybe you can speed up that process. if you're successful in doing that you might want to pull back on using iso on * guys and concentrate on your ** guys - the ones you have all are useful but don't match your 1*s because they aren't covered yet. my transition to ** happened very quickly once I started playing LRs. once you get the covers, you'll need some iso.
bit of advice - never spend hp on anything but roster slots. unless you plan on spending real money in the game there are many tough decisions ahead on who to keep and who to dump due to limited roster and rising roster slot costs. also, never spend iso on a std token.
good luck.0 -
Welcome to the forums Salemuria.
Good advice in both above posts. Definitely be careful how much iso you dump into your 1*s, I know I regretted maxing so many of them. The 2* characters you have are the exact ones I still carry. They make great teams that you'll probably use for several months once you get a few more covers for them. Trying to harvest covers from seed teams in lightning rounds is a good idea, I never played them at all in the beginning because I knew I couldn't get very far.
Storm/Magneto
Thor/Daken
Ares/Daken
Wolvie/OBW (Did you know obw's black passive makes her double dip on the strike tiles?)
Having a, b, & c teams will help you get further, faster because one (un)lucky cascade team wipe won't take you out for the night.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice everybody, I really do appreciate it! I will replace Ragnarok with Hulk.
TxMoose, I have just started trying to play some of the events they have... And, actually got a cover/power (I'm so newb I don't even know if those are 2 different things or the same ) I think it was for Daken... So I will definitely try to do what I can there, thank you.
I've just been spending iso on whoever I have the option to level, as my options for that are kinda limited at the moment. I do spend a lot of time mining iso though. I have a couple of 2 * characters that I can level a little right now though, so I will take your advice and put my iso there.
I did start reading the forum pretty soon after I downloaded the game and saw that I should only spend HP on roster slots, so that is what I have been doing. (Wish I had read that before spending some of the HP they give you to start the game though LOL) As of now, I won't be spending real money on HP because, well, I'm too poor for that... LOL HP seems kinda hard to come by for me right now, any tips on the best ways for me to get some at my level other than waiting for the daily rewards and getting it from the storyline? I didn't know about not spending iso on std tokens though, so thank you for that and for the luck!
Thanks for the welcome udonomefoo! I did not know that OBW's black passive makes her double dip on the strike tiles, thank you for the tip! Thank you for wishing me luck and the info on the A, B, C teams
I've read Polarity's Guide, but I am wondering if the ideal build posted for Magneto is still the same with the change that was made on him. I think he's the only one that I have that was changed(except Ragnarok, but I'm replacing him anyway)... Even having read that guide though, I still feel like I have a lot to learn... It's good to know that there are so many people who are here to help! Thanks again everybody!0 -
Cover/power/ability - it's all the same. They're presented as "covers" from comics so that's why they're called that, but they are also powers/abilities. No one will give you a hard time for calling them any of the three.
Magneto's blue is still weak, nothing changed there. Max out purple and red. As for the HP, there really isn't a good answer there. PVE is your only hope, and I'm not even sure if you can do much damage there yet either. I got impatient and spent $20 on hp for roster spots when I was about where you are now. And again about a month later. And again a month later. Haha.0 -
Welcome to the forum!
Just to mirror some of what's been said:
Polarity's guide. Polarity's guide. Polarity's guide. Polarity's guide. Polarity's guide. Oh, and Polarity's guide.
HP is tough. Roster slots ONLY for the time being.
When you start feeling comfortable with your 2*s, start dropping 1*s. Personally, and I've played 1*s pretty extensively, Juggs is the "one 1* to rule them all." I didn't believe it long ago, but yeah. Great for Team-ups, great solo for Deadpool's Daily, and actually quite serviceable in a pinch alongside your 2*s.
As for your 2*s, you actually don't have any "obvious" cuts there (good work!). You've got all the ones I would consider "good to great." Just please don't make the same mistakes I made and cover/level them all "willy nilly." Did I mention Polarity's guide? Again, speaking of mistakes. OBW is an ANIMAL. I blew that one and didn't even consider building her until discovering this forum. Wow, was I wrong. Trust me, she's a beast.
And your 3*s? Try really hard not to get rid of them. Even under-covered/leveled they open a bunch of doors (essentials, DDQ). That said, Hulk over Rags all day. I've probably sold enough Rags cards to build 1 1/2 fully covered characters. Hulk on the other hand is awesome in the right situations, and well, actually awesome in the wrong situations. He's awesome. Congrats on Loki. He is AWESOME. I've got a barely playable version of him and he's STILL plenty lethal.
Anyhoo, welcome again, and good luck!

Welcome. You are on the right track by finding this forum from the get go. You can probably get about 400-500 HP from the prologue and then dailies generally give HP about every 10 days or so. More so in the first 14 days, I think. I started a second account - a "newbie" account - about 30 days ago, and have been easily placed in an "easy" bracket in pvp. Weirdly, I do better placement (T100) with the "newbie" account than I do with my primary (more developed roster) account. The newbie account doesn't have anything higher than level 40 and no fully covered 2*. You may want to try that. Enter a slice between 1-8 hours before end and play anywhere from 3-10 matches and see where it can get you. T100 gives HP.Salemuria wrote:I've read Polarity's Guide, but I am wondering if the ideal build posted for Magneto is still the same with the change that was made on him. I use Magneto (primary account) alot. His purple at level 5 also produces 5 red, which fuels his red power more quickly. His red is an AP gravy train. At level 5, you produce about 2.1K damage + damage from the destroyed tiles (25 tiles) + 25 gained AP from destroyed tiles. Not to mention it clears the board of those special enemy tiles. I would recommend his 3/5/5 build still holds.0
