My temporary return to PvE

I stopped playing PvE some time ago. For the current "Thick as Thieves" I wanted to try out the new "streamlined" version and returned *drums*.
I like:
- all subs end at the same time
- 2 clears + a few more nodes here and there + multiple clears of "manageable" nodes at the end of a sub seem to keep me in top 50 (I was #19 after 3rd sub)
- it feels like less effort than before to me (of course I might be wrong about that)
- sub reward structure provides hero points even with my play style (150 so far)
I don't like:
- still 4 days for two 3* covers for me (pvp is more efficient for me), but better than 7
- scaling is really frustrating on some non-goon nodes (the goon ones are still easy for me even at 300+)
- health packs used in PvE are painfully missing in PvP currently, especially if you can't/don't want to play a dozen times a day to maximize health pack recharging
All in all, better than before if I remember correctly .
But:
The health pack issue will prevent me from playing PvE regularly. Health packs are too important to me when playing PvP and I am really not in the mood to buy them. I experience puke'ish feelings when I have to spend 200 hero points for a 5 pack just to be able to play. I try to avoid those feelings .

I agree with most of what you said except for the level 300+ goons being easy... Since if those guys shoot off a sniper rifle a few times, then i'm pretty much done for the round and till i have more health packs...
Although i will agree that if you get a lucky board you can win quite easily, but at the same time, land a bad board and you're going to be lucky to scrape by...
-EDIT-
I should also add, i don;t like the fact they seem to be now requiring a 2* / 3* / 4* for essential nodes...
Also, as a disclaimer, i also just came back to the game maybe 2-3 weeks ago now, although playing extremely casually...0 -
I agree that one of the big issues now is the either/or aspect of PvE vs PvP. In practice, you've got to choose one or the other, as you'll need all your health packs for PvP, and most of them for PvE, if you want to actually hit placement/progression targets.0

True, the 300+ goon nodes are not easy for everyone. If goons get their countdowns off, you are screwed.
(I can luckily go with max Patch (Berserker Rage is one of the best skills against goons imho) and max OBW (her blue skill saves the day again and again and her passive black with BR is ridiculous) with +2 g/b and +2 b/p AP boost and win almost every time (maybe 1 wipe in 20 battles). If I don't have to use an essential character I can luckily add max Falcon who is really a great addition if I want to.)
Lucky boards are way more beneficial for real characters than goons, I think. Maybe with the exception of "Muscles". But that's just me0 -
If anyone is interested: I ended up with 58k and a top 20 finish. Not so bad and not so unfunny.0
