Darn, I jumped in too early after Frydaddy posted. . vet bracket at 947. Good luck all, I'm outta contention for any prizes.

How is this all SUPPOSED to work?

This is like my fourth PvE in a row that I've tried to join late in a fresh bracket, but every single time, on the strength of other people's information, I end up in a bracket that was not spoken of. I won't say incorrectly, cuz clearly there are different brackets in different slices, but still.......

And how / why on Earth did I end up in Slice 4's Vet Bracket? I'm a transitioner, with only level 94s. Doesn't THAT kind of placement have to do with rosters? Or is it Days? Is 170 considered "Vet"?

I have to apologize. In the past I was in a PvE alliance and was constantly put in vet brackets. Last season I switched to a PvP only alliance since I was burned out on PvE. I wanted to help you guys out but since I have put minimal effort in the last 5-6 PvE events I have been moved to noob status. This is on my main account (Steam). I have a 2nd account on my phone around day 50 that was just put in the same bracket.

Not sure how it determines who is in vet brackets but it appears that once you're in vet category, you stay there unless you really take a long PVE break. So if your leaderboard looks like vet teams, there you have it and now you know. Bracket numbers posted here are accurate about 85% of the time but sometimes there are multiple brackets filling at once, so information could be correct but you still miss that bracket that just flipped. Also, very rarely trolls post fake numbers. If you plan to rely on a post, check that person's post history. If it is less than a week old or lacking in substantive posts, ignore their post and wait for other confirmation. Lastly, late joining carries with it a certain level of risk. You can take steps to minimize that risk, but it will not always work out. The only sure thing is to join at the start and fight out the whole event.

The other thing to consider is that you never want to be the first person to test the data. I would rather give up a 30 minute head start than end up #900 in a bracket. I can make up the 30 minutes, but I can't pass 900 people with clears and/or entire subs in hand.

I just joined slice #4....at 607. Um....maybe Im not a "vet" anymore?

Anyway, leader is DWalk at 14,224 with LegoManiac in 5th at 11,573. Hope that helps someone.
