new forum layout

not sure how I ended up in the new forum layout yesterday but as it was, the new look forum was unusable for me. maybe the bugs will be worked out before it goes live but pages only loaded 1 out of 4 tries and it took almost a full minute to find out if it would load or not. looked much more updated in appearance but please don't sacrifice functionality. I'd much rather have old looking forums that are useful than fresh, new forums that aren't.
it reminds me of the recent updates to cbs sportsline (~2 years ago) and yahoo mail (last year?). both of which I absolutely hate. there was nothing wrong with what they were and the 'fresh, new look' is much less functional in both instances.
