I just subscribed to Marvel Unlimited (MU). Saw that at 9.99 per month, giving me access to a lot of comics was good value for money. (And there's a free first month subscription!)

Can someone recommend me which series are worth reading? I have never really read any series before, though I know all the major characters (Avengers and Xmen).

Oh for some background, I grew up mainly with the 80s and 90s animated series (Xmen and spidey).

It depends what you enjoy now, so it's hard to give recommendations, except for just characters.

CBR is a good comics' site, and they have a lot of lists that show best runs of comics, as voted by users. Dipping into there might give you an idea of what you like.

One fairly safe recommendation is the Joss Whedon run of Astonishing X-Men (1-24, plus a giant size issue), if it's available there. He wrote and directed Avengers, so you know his sensibility. It's impeccably drawn, 25 issues broken down into four blocks. Really sharp and fairly light. A fun series.

Thanks for the CBR reference! I think that should keep me busy for a long time! Wonderful resource.

I manage to finish Ms Marvel (KK) #1 to #6. It was funny and good. Now I could understand the hype about her. Reminds me of how the original Spiderman is like.... Young adult gaining power and learning how to use it and juggle personal life.

I also finished the Invincible Iron Man, Most wanted man series. My God, it was terrible. Well seeing pepper becoming Rescue was cool... But the whole story of IM running around, doing what he was doing.... Makes no sense at all. And the side story of Hill running around, encountering different enemies also makes no sense at all. It was like a lot of action, but no consistent story line.

I guess I like comic with strong story line, and character development. And humor.
