Why is "Hulkbuster" Iron Man not named "Veronica"?

    Because Veronica is the name of the drop pod containing the armor and not the armor itself?

    Calling the suit Veronica was Joss's tounge and cheek reference to the other woman in Banners lfe. Betty Ross. It was just for the movie. Actual Hulkbuster suits and armors have been around since the late seventies early eighties.
