"PvP Skip Feature

We have been working on a way to change the skip feature in order to compensate for the fact that players have been able to take advantage of the system to manipulate tournament results in their favor. The skip feature is often used repeatedly to allow players to choose their opponents based on rank or by selecting only matches they feel they can win with minimal damage to their teams.

To discourage this play style, we will be implementing a per-skip cost of 10 Iso-8. This will hopefully encourage players to take more risks when competing in PvP, while still allowing them to Skip a fight at a cost if they feel they've been unfairly matched(this change was initially announced in the following post: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2298)."

They also wrote this which doesn't work the matchmaking is so broken it isn't even funny.

"We want it to be most competitive at the top of the leaderboard. Extra points if it's a touch less cutthroat in the middle of the pack. So we're making the following changes. As always, we'll watch how it goes and will be listening to your feedback, so let us know how it feels.

First, we changed the way we search for matches. Before, when taking event rating into account while matchmaking, we looked for opponents within a certain range above and below your event rating. Now, we still limit the amount below your rating that we look (so you don't get worthless matches), but you can now be matched with players that have event ratings any distance above yours. We rolled this out during the first run of the Ares tournament and it looks like it's having a positive effect so far."

I have seen more garbage in my queue than ever. and you want to charge me to skip it? Really?

Great, so I'm gonna get penalized because the game matches me with teams that only give 10 points? Is there even a point in playing tournaments anymore?

I am more concerned with the ones that will wreck you and pretty much limit your playtime so much that it won't be worth the bother. 5 health pack is a joke when you are going to at least lose 1 or more characters to win the match

So.... not fixing the match making system and giving us to win less points. The devs do know what they're doing eh.

This is really a problem. Most of the the time I skip because I get paired with people with a much lower level than myself, so If i fight with them and they fight back they steal a lot of points from my score. So this is a big deal and a big problem.

This is a very big mistake.

It is just 10iso, but in the long run you will need maybe more iso than what you will earn in that fight (specially if they give you just 70iso for the win).


If you need to pay to skip, then they need to implement a different mechanic for the PvP beacuse it will be impossible to get to the higher rewards, and your progressin will enterily be made by luck (who you are paired with will be the most important, not your skill or your level). Commo'n devs, chosing who you fight is part of the fun of the game, and is part of the strategy!!!

I saw this yesterday, and kept worrying that I was paying heedlessly last night when I was skipping. I assume it will actually start happening sometime later today? Maybe as of whatever tournament replaces Wolvie?

Oh, and just to chime in: this is a terrible idea. It might be useful if matchmaking were better, but the overwhelming number of matches I skip are skipped because they're basically worthless. Now I get to choose between opening myself up to numerous 30+ point retaliations or whittling away any ISO-8 I might have otherwise gained from PVP. Ganz wunderbar.

I can't understand how such a bad idea came to the devs, I really can understand it. And the justification they gave is so way off the real reason most of the people skips a fight, that I don't really know if they play their own game anymore.

PD: And even if players where skiping because they don't want to fight an speficic opponent, it is their choice, it is part of their strategy to win a PvP. I think this is part of the fun too, to choose who you want to fight or who you think you may win.
PD: Well at least they are raising the iso rewards, sou you could skip more if you are lucky

The worst part of this game is the way they match you up with opponents. I consistently get paired with players far above my level, that give far too few points even if i did win. I used the skip feature so i could pair myself with players on my level and not waste my time and health packs. The new update to charge for skipping a battle is ridiculous if they are not going to fix the matching system. The second they start charging to skip battles is the second i uninstall this game. Good thing i didn't get carried away and spend a bunch of real cash on this! But why would you really? Its not like there's a trade feature. and the one and two star characters outshine the three and four star characters anyway.

In my opinion...I hope this is a beta version...because if this is the final product, its a waist of time and cash.

I am in the same boat I get constantly paired with teams that outclass me I counted 20 clicks before I found a team that didn't have a character that could one shot my team members.
