Specific Character Tourneys, Environments, and Retaliations
I have never been lucky enough to pull an X-Force (or dedicated enough to win one), and my Patch is only level 25. So upon entering "The Best There Is" tourney, I learned that not only can I not pick which environment to fight in, but that I'm also stuck soaking up 2/3 of the attacks that come in as it is impossible for me to retaliate in them (due to either low level or missing character). In light of that, I'd like to suggest a UI that does not tie the chosen character to his retaliation list and the environment.
For the environment, it would be easy enough to have a dropdown / spinner/ widget of choice that allows the user to select an environment - either "random", "round robin", or a specific value. This will also serve the benefit of expanding the terrain options beyond 3. As a bonus, it would be nice if the system remembered what you picked from fight to fight (I would always fight in the snowy mountains, I think). Alternatively, stop tying terrain to a fight option and always make it a random or round robin rotation of environments.
For the character selection, the UI already requires that you pick a "required" character for certain missions/fights. The easiest solution would be to expand the "required" character from a singleton value to a list of acceptable values. The UI already ties certain characters together, so if I pick Astonishing as my main and then for the 2nd character I try to pick X-Force, it would update the main character from Astonishing to X-Force. This would allow players to select any environment on the first screen and then pick their hero of choice on the normal roster selection screen.
I feel these changes would make for a more consistent UI (in terms of character selection) and a more flexible UI (in terms of environment selection) while also adding value in that I don't lose out on retaliations. Thanks!
