Ultron Run 2 going live

This is the height of arrogant indifference. You had problems LAST NIGHT. How can you run this event in good conscience? Don't you think, if any compensation is planned, it would need to happen before Run 2? Won't players need to use the rewards they would have received? You should all be ashamed of yourselves and the company you work for right now. How can there be so few red posts? You should all be prostrating yourselves before us right now.
I want to be clear. Server isssues happen. The demand is higher than you thought and it crushed you. Your reaction to it is horrendous, and that is 100% your fault.
These questions need to be answered. Today.
Why release on a Friday when you had devs off for the weekend and marketing folks away in Chicago?
How could you not extend the first run after the early issues?
How were volume issues preventing access through to Sunday? You really had sustained overwhelming volume for two straight days?
Why would you not fix the progression awards creating Inter-alliance competition? Who thought this was a good idea in the first place?
Wait run 2 is going to have the SAME problem? ...why...just...so wrong...I can't...
Why do you keep saying you'll have more information tomorrow for three days now? Which tomorrow are you referring to?
Why, when all logic, reason, an decency would say otherwise, would you release the Second Ultron run when you clearly haven't fixed the first?

It's fine if they want to be indifferent because player can also fight back with indifference. The biggest way you can harm this game is not by posting on the forum telling why this game sucks. A game like MPQ has a fairly stable playerbase so it's unlikely anything good or bad you say is going to significantly affect the population. As long as you're still complaining about the game that means you might be playing the game. If you no longer play the game then you shouldn't care about what happens to it, which is what I'll be doing if this issue isn't resolved by the end of the day. I supported devs on virtually every gameplay decision they ever made, but this is not a gameplay decision. There is no big picture here when the server just died for a very significant portion of players, and yes I'll be first to admit that if the issue didn't affect me I'll be slightly less zealous about this issue (though it's still completely wrong). No the game is not getting worse and worse, and in fact it seems like it's going to be very good, but I have zero tolerance for non gameplay issues that affect my ability to play the game. If you're going to punish me because your server died, then I don't care how good your game is.0

That's not how this works. You say they are arrogant, but your comment screams entitlement.
The deal is that if you don't like it you have to show them in the only way that you can.... aka stop playing, stop paying. They only answer to money and of course Marvel. I don't think they even have a choice in running the second event. They have agreements in place to run this event with Marvel to go along with all the other games that are doing the same thing. They can't just say no.
I'm personally in the group that enjoyed the event and liked it WAY more then the standard PVE. Sure there were some Network issues, but this was a 4.5 day event. The servers were down for less then 8 hours total. Most of that was right at the start where the points were low anyway. Missing those first couple hours had almost no impact on anyone ability to hit 1 mil.
The issue with Capping the points for alliances is now a know issue and any alliance that will be impacted by it is going to make the adjustment. Remember that the true number of alliance effected by that issue was actually kinda small.
Sure, I'd like a little more forum involvement by the dev's.... but you should be used to that by now.

Thanks goodness I already completed DDQ and got Magneto cover. This makes me immune to inevitable server crashes today0

This is terribly wrong. You must have been very lucky. I had intermittent issues through to Sunday logging in. Then again on Tuesday. Monday is the only day the event remained stable.
I loved this event. I wouldn't be complaining this hard if I didn't.0 -
I suspect that Marvel has set a time for them and the end is supposed to run up to the release of the new movie.
I can understand technical issues and hard dates I can understand... But if they don't hand out SW covers in the next 2 hours and she's a required character... That's a big middle finger to the player base, and simply inexcusable.0 -

I agree 100% with the first and third paragraphs. The stuff I italicized is pure ignorance. Clearly you were able to connect way more than the majority of the playerbase... WHAT ABOUT THE LAST 4 HOURS? You know the part that completely destroys your whole argument in the italicized section... this totally appears to be "Head up tinykitty syndrome".0 -
Maybe it will be slightly better here, since everyone knew when #1 was going to start and going to end. By not publicly announcing start time of #2 well before hand, not everyone will be ready to run it.
The problem on that side is your team-mates who can't get round 1/2/3 points, since they didn't know it was going to start....0 -
The entitlement for this event is completely unreasonable, which goes along with the completely unreasonable outcome of having your server dying in the last 6 hours of an event. It takes an extraordinary bribe to complacate an extraordinary outage. And yes absolutely all kinds of liars will be trying to cash in on this. Here, just have this response ready: "I was going to get all 3 QS covers, all 3 SW covers, top 2 in Earth's Mightiest, DDQ cover, top 2 in Heroic Oscorp, and top 2 in Heroic Oscorp sub and now it's all ruined". There is no possible way they can even verify what you said is true even if you're outright lying, not to mention there's actually a significant part of this statement that can very well be true. The vultures absolutely will be getting stuff they don't deserve. It doesn't matter because players aren't the one that caused this mess (unless you want to say it's their problem for playing the game). It'd appear this game lacks the technology to distinguish players easily. That is, it appears to be pretty hard to do something like 'give everyone already on round 6/7/8 alliance a SW cover of that round, and give everyone within 200K points of the next QS cover that QS cover', and that's the simplest case to handle. The DDQ/Earth's Mightiest/Heroic Oscorp are borderline impossible to even verify, and yet the damage done here is definitely real. Therefore any award given out en masse is either going to be incredibly lowball (because we're all liars and nobody was actually going to get those covers anyway), or incredibly generous because everyone totally was going to finish round 8 in one day, and the former option sure isn't going to salvage anything at this point. But again, that's not our fault we're in this situation in the first place.0

Maybe, just maybe, all the lessons they learned from the first run will be put in practice for the second run? Maybe we should wait and see before having a little tantrum, uh? Compensations will come soon but events were planned and scheduled long ago.Jasonzakibe wrote:LXSandman wrote:Jasonzakibe wrote:You should all be prostrating yourselves before us right now.

Do you actually work? Haven't you ever made a mistake? Have you had to prostrate before the person wronged? The things you ask for do not belong into the "fairly basic concept" of commerce.LXSandman wrote:

What if you already paid?
When did you pay? How many times have you paid? How many hours have you played since your last payment? Or maybe do you believe that because some day you gave them $20 or whatever they are now forever contractually obligated to inhumanly avoid all mistakes or become your **** if they fail to do so?LXSandman wrote:I'm personally in the group that enjoyed the event and liked it WAY more then the standard PVE. That's not wrong. That's how the event was designed and loads of people had lots of fun, heaps of rewards and a grand ol' time altogether. Some were unlucky and experienced more issues than others. It's unfortunate, but it will be addressed and compensated accordingly. No need to be a complete tinykitty about it.0 -

Yeah I've always done DPD first thing in the morning, but with the recent issues, that seems like a requirement more than a preference. Got my Blue mags too (and my BP black yesterday).0 -
I missed 1 million by 10k points as well, those last few hours of downtime at the very end killed me. I even had 2 fights against ultron give 0 points and then disconnect me, if one of those had counted I would have been OK or if I could have gotten back in I would have been OK.
And now it's down again.0 -
I don't want this to devolve into players attacking other players. If you defend D3's reprehensible behavior, though, it can appear you're encouraging it.Pylgrim wrote:Maybe, just maybe, all the lessons they learned from the first run will be put in practice for the second run? That is overly optimistic given their track record. The fact that they were having issues last night(!) would seem to refute this. Nevermind the known issues they already admitted they were blindly re-running.Pylgrim wrote:Jasonzakibe wrote:LXSandman wrote:Jasonzakibe wrote:You should all be prostrating yourselves before us right now.

Yes I work, yes I've had to prostrate myself before clients. I once had to apologize I could only work 50 hours on a client's project that week. My kids were sick. Do you work? That's how business works.Pylgrim wrote:When did you pay? How many times have you paid? How many hours have you played since your last payment? What's the quota for when my money counts? I would guess I'm around a grand into the game. (I've only spent more money on one game - WoW) I put $40 into this event (I had set aside $200 but these issues made me back off). Do I count now? What percentage do I matter?Pylgrim wrote:That's not wrong. That's how the event was designed and loads of people had lots of fun, heaps of rewards and a grand ol' time altogether. maybe it is new feature players fight ultron in game and devs fight ultron on severs. looks like the devs didn't level their SW's.
