THE Mmr is infuriating. ..

It's infuriating to see the top of a bracket leader board have such a horrible roster compared to your own. It drives me nuts to think I can't get better until I'm maxed out. Otherwise my competition is just going to be harder at every turn. The infuriating part is people who "figure" out the system will place much better than people who are working hard on their character. I struggle to find wins in the wolverine contest.

Patch is 111.
IM40 is lvl 100
Ares 85
Hulk 62
Punisher 68
Handful more in the 40-60 range.

First place has a
im35 at lvl 30
modern storm at 45 and
modern bw at 40.
So what exactly do I need to know to do better in tournaments since building my roster is not the answer anymore? ??????

the MMR doesn't seem so bad in theory..most of the squads I get matched against are more or less in my area (mostly maxed "" like mine), which is fine since the games should be challenging, right? With reasonable effort I can manage to land within the spidy-cover-are which seems fine.

This, of course, doesn't apply to the Lightning Rounds. In only 30 mins I have no way to grind to a reasonable amout of points against teams that equal me in strength...

The thing I mind most, though, is that since tanking was disabled, the progression rewards are completely out of reach for me (and I think for pretty much everybody). In the punisher tournament, I finished as 30th with only 400 points. 500 would have landed me in the top 5 and the winner of my bracket only had about 700...how is anybody going to get the 1400 reward for instance?

as for low level players topping the bracket: I don't mind too much that they get a chance at good rewards, but it shouldn't be too imbalanced in their favour (like it is atm). Maybe the MMR should take the current tournament rank into account as well.
  • Maybe they can separate brackets so you play in your own areas of level.
I.e. Once you break level say 60 or 85 or 100 or 120 you are placed in a similar bracket.

Atm I feel that the game is set up for people to make a fast run to mediocrity and a snail like crawl towards end game. Imo it should be faster to end game and then involves strategy.

yeah, another thing that bothers me is that the way it is now it's almost pointless to play the first 1-2 days of the tournament..all that's needed is some grinding in the last 12 or so hours. Maybe they should adjust points given out to make it more appealing to play from the beginning
  • The MMR system drives me nuts which is why I am so unhappy that they didnt listen to everyone on the forums and went ahead and put in their tax on skipping matches. I realise 10 ISO isnt as bad as it could have been, I fully expected to start charging Hero Points since thats where everything seems to be headed!

The thing is though, all i want from this game is fun and up till now it has been. I am not interested in the mechanics of 'tanking' or staying up up night to 'grind' a mission to try for top place. I realise my heroes arent up to the level of 1st and accept that, hopefully through playing the game and having fun they will slowly improve, very slowly now that a chunk of my hard earnt ISO is gonna be blown just so i can find a PVP match I feel comfortable having a shot at. I often find myself skipping 20 or so matches to find someone that isnt 15 or more levels above me so that I feel I may have a chance. If the matching hasnt improved to a much narrower range that will now cost me 200 ISO, not a small amount for me!

Oh and it's not the chance of losing that scares me away from taking on some tougher fights, it is the fact that afterwards my Iron Man or whoever could well have a hour or more to heal. That's not fun when all you want to do is to play the game and enjoy yourself. Course this is probably the intention to force me to buy Health Packs, more Hero Points gone that at the moment I really need for Roster slots.

I dont know if this makes sense to anybody, just venting my feelings on the subject icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, obvoiusly you're supposed to lose a lot or win a lot less of battles to place higher. It's a competition after all, isn't it. O,O

Now that more of the **** gets revealed I hope more people will chose the door out than trying their daily workarounds and keep frustrating themselves in all the uphill battles. Honestly, do you feel FUN facing this? Or just the grind remained and a little of "I could still show you"?

I know a lot of players complain about the upcoming pay to skip mechanism, but this could actually prevent stuff like this from happening in the future (or make it happen a lot less)

This is exactly why i object to a skip tax!

hmm, that's strange, I find about 90% of the matches I get to be beatable (though usually challenging). I have a 85 wolvie, 75 OBW plus whatever villain (ranging from 15 to 70) and I usually get matches with 2 85lvl + 1 villain (usually low level).

it wasn't like that before they disabled tanking..back then I'd usually get 100+ opponents if I didn't tank regularly.

Well... 90% of my matches in LR and in Wolvie tourney have exclusively level 80+ 2-stars and 100+ 3-stars, my highest: 77 OBW, 67 C.Storm, 61 Thor, 53 Punisher, 42 2-star Wolverine.
Hooray for being punished, for doing well at the game, with matches that make me envious of the game-mechanics-exploiters.
