Best Team against ultron waves??

I know this ultron event has its boosted characters which is fine but I know one thing people get annoyed of is all the strike, protect and attack tiles. Well off the top of my head some characters that would be quite effect is daredevil, doc oc, and of course Loki. Any two of those with the required character would help out a lot

I'm using Luke Cage + Black Panther. Cage negates most of the damage.

Cage and IF. Yup, Cage soaks up the damage, and once you bank 12 black, IF does over 4000 dmg for only five purple. And Cage's yellow knocks them down in one punch. Great in long wave battles.

You don't really want to use the special tile specialist characters, because if they aren't on the board, Ultrons do that passive taking out the short column of tiles. Better to have a defence like Cage's that makes them moot.

    Indeed.

Pair him with another descent damage dealer and the Ultron wave
    becomes Ultron massacre.
  • Hmm I have to agree with that.

The constant board shakeup makes Loki unusable, in my opinion.

My 2*- 3* transition account uses level 114 2/2/5 Cage, level 115 4/3/4 Patch, + essential. I turtle up until I get one guy left in wave 1, then off him using Berserker Rage. In wave 2 I BR again, then use Cage's Uppercut and Jab, Jab Cross, they normally don't get a look in. Sometimes I sub in level 117 1/5/3 Daken, which makes for a slightly quicker game but has more risk.

My "proper" account uses level 166 5/5/3 Cage, and level 155 4/4/5 Kamala, + essential. Same tactic pretty much, but I off the last guy with an Uppercut, and Embiggened Bash x2 on wave 2. But lately I've started using Patch here as well.

really wish I had a usable patch or cage or 5 yellow on grocket. they would rock in this. as it is my only 2 above 104 are lthor and loki, so that's what it is most matches. not that they're the best, but I've used daredevil, hood, obw and on the hawkeye node I still used stormneto.

I use She-Hulk and Mohawk Storm. Along with whomever is the required, it goes well.

3 yellow on Grocket has been plenty. If anything, it might be a little better because you can constantly shake up the board. Just a small risk that core meltdown takes him out.

I've been using almost exclusively Thor-Grocket for the sentry nodes. I switched to Patch-Cpt Marvel just for the Hulk essentials, and I swapped in XForce, LCap, and Cyclops for Thor to mitigate some of the health pack usage.

unfortunately the way my I'm set up right now thor is at 166 and grocket is at 104 (and everything else below that other than 140 loki), so thor tanks everything and tanks all r/y/g which I'm targeting, so he's taking the brunt of the damage regardless. I've finished all the fights but the way I'm set up it is health pack central. I just have to let things recharge every once in a while. looking forward to broadening my roster at the top end but currently only have one other fully covered (daredevil) so will be a while. so for now I'm broadening at the ~100 level - can throw many combinations at things at that level now. lthor/loki are my 'get a cover every 3 days team'.

this event is confirming my opinion that Captain America (either version) is the king of survival nodes. Add in OBW and somebody with active Green/Black and you've got a nice rainbow that can deal with most anything. (I've been using MoStorm because she's covered better than XForce. If you want to sacrifice a color, it's a wash which one you ditch. Based on my roster, I'd probably put in Cage for the active black & sacrifice green, but that's because I"ve drawn 5 red covers for him.)

I've had some success with Falcon / Luke Cage / Required Avenger. Luke Cage keeps a shield up, and Falcon makes that shield ridiculous. Redwing keeps the enemy special tiles under control, and (I think) prevents some heals now and again. I tried a Quicksilver/Witch/Falcon run and it took **** forever. Witch only had one level of her nuke, so I couldn't get the yellow sentry down enough before they healed. Took 20 minutes, I think. Ugh
    .
  • This event is tailored for Luke Cage. Beyond that any decent team should be able to beat the Ultron Sentries though not without taking significant damage from their passives.

I definitely feel you on this one. Cap is great in these. The ones where he is the essential are cake when I couple him with Luke Cage and OBW, like you said, you sacrifice green, but they can usually deal with it. A green-using teamup like Onslaught or Smash could be useful for the inevitable green you accumulate, I just thought of this, I'll have to try it later. OBW is awesome at keeping everyone alive so cage can deliver good uppercuts and she can steal a lot since they always have plenty of AP in all colors. Those 2 are also awesome with Thor and Quicksilver essentials since green becomes useful. My Cage isn't fully covered in red but that protect tile showing up every turn definitely helps against swarms + attack tiles.

I must agree. Patch and Loki are king here! and you come out with little to no damage.

I guess I'm the only one here finding success with Spider-man? Luke (95 @ 5/2/2) is only generating 1 78 strength protect while Spider-man (81 @ 3/1/3) is generating up to 3 48 strength tiles with no webs out (96 w/2, 144 w/3). Provided I can keep out 3 protect tiles with Spidey, it completely floors Swarm damage. Plus, he's got a rainbow synergy with Hulk.

I didn't care for Loki, too squishy. Mischief fires a lot, but those tiles rarely last long enough to do anything. Trickery only works on the strength & protect tiles, not the attack tiles.
