Thick as thieves joke/daredevil

Now that Thor and wolverine have been nerfed, all my missions are downright impossible. No matter how I try it I can't progress anymore. I was ranked #1 a few days ago now I'm ranked 159 or something like that with literally no chance at daredevil anymore. This seriously pisses me off. I've never paid to play this game but it shouldn't matter. I've seriously tried my hardest for all characters I've received and earned. Please make the missions a bit easier for everyone. And the random 100 hp cost on the +3 boost all colors was a serious kick to the sensitives. It took a while to earn those only to spend then without realizing. Please fix this before it gets seriously out of control

    They're going to rerun the event once they work out the problems. I was ticked off too, I thought for sure I would get Daredevil and have no chance now without spending cash at a silly rate.

    I wouldn't be surprised if there's an event soon that makes it surprisingly easy for people to get their hands on DD.
  • A sensible approach would be rewarding EVERYONE who joined this faulty event one Daredevil cover for free.
    Nice extra for the devs too, someone will surely buy HP for another char slot icon_lol.gif
  • I'm very frustrated with this event, but it's clearly broken. I figured they would fix it up and rerun it.

    And hey, if that's the plan, listen: The new mutant dudes that spawn count down tiles? You had a guy do all the graphic work, and then another guy come up with all the powers and stuff, right? Someone else has to program it and put it all in. Lots of work went in to them I'm sure. And then a 3rd guy comes in and is like "**** those guys," and pairs all the new enemies with Dark Avengers that use the same colours. So instead of red bombs and black bombs doing whatever they're suppose to do, it's all Rampage and Murderous Aim. Working as intended, or what?
  • Yeah i was owning daredevil. Was rank 1 a couple of times too before getting knocked out of getting boosts. Again, i think this whole thing could be solved by putting back the boosts to the way they were. No one asked to nerf the boosts and no one was warned a nerf of sorts would be applied to the boosts. Good lord, this whole thing is a mess. I just checked who was ahead of me too, people with not a single cover above level 30. Seriously? How do those people get to top 50's? This is ridiculous.
  • Lvl 35 patch is enough to own the matches. So many ways to work with him. Characters Luke magneto that canguve you multiple attacks in a turn, ppl like thor or grey suit that build you green/cascades, spidey stun locking, hulk as a def specialist, etc etc etc. I won my.last sub by 1000 pts almost. I think ppl just aren't putting in the effort to tank.the teams. I timed it. Takes about 15 sec to tank a round including everything yonder up the next tanking. So 4 retreats a minute and a lvl drop every 5 or so...you can drop the enemy to decent lvls with 5-6 min of tanking with characters you don't use. You shouldn't HAVE to...but its not so hard or time consuming to make the enemies be around 30-60for the low lvl thugs and 110-150 for the highest. You can get them lower if you need to. Just make sure you fight the harder ones first and the easy ones last.

    Personally.I have been attacking the middle lvl ones first, the hard ones second (use boosts) and the easy ones last (lvl 60 vs160 maggia is nothing to the mighty.patches). Lack of give a f is the only.thing that may stop me.from placing first...and I think thatvis how it really.is with ppl.

    If you are complaining about difficulty you either don't know you can tank or don't want to put in the time ...which to me means its less about difficulty and more about not liking the time constraint the event has.

    @ il pal...I was surprised the opened event goal didn't give jack. Disappointing. I am.sure we will get daredevil in spades the next few weaks but it feels nice to have another regardless.

    I know I can tank and as you can see by how much I'm in forums I have more time than I know what to do with. I just refuse to tank Pve because that's ****.
  • All the pure goon battles are relatively easy with Patch because Berserker Rage is pretty much one sided against goons (goons don't match any tiles). You only have to win once out of 4 times, and chances are you'll get a favorable board in 4 shot. Spiderman can heal your team back to full pretty easily. If you don't have Spiderman, OBW can work too. Usually the Muscle will spam only his tiles in a mixed matchup so killing him with a move clears all the tiles and then you can heal without penalty.

    The goons that share color with their villian has always been tough to deal with. If you get Commander or Lietenant with Venom he can generally stun your team every other turn and that's arguably even more painful.

    The hardest mission is, well, very hard. Daken is always tough to fight. I can't beat it every single time, but with everyone equally weakened by the changes, you usually only have to beat it once to place well.

    I think you forget most people playing don't know you can do that. It's hardly the first thing you're going to think of when the game suddenly turns impossible, which 230x3 without boosts because you can't afford them probably is for many. The first thing most people are going to think is "Huh. Ah, well, back to Candy Crush.".

    I can also tell you from experience that if you were just riding Brokenpatch and boosts to blast everything down in four turns even at 230x3, tanking won't help much unless you have an entire afternoon to devote to it and a lot of spare slots for 1* fall guys. I systematically trashed my entire roster a couple of times and barely got the intro missions below 200. They're back up now after I skimmed a few high-pointers. Dunno if my bracket's representative, but there it looks like just about everyone has given up on this trainwreck of an event. Not even the people up top are bothering to grind it out, just grabbing a few more points if someone passes them.

    Even if the scaling weren't broken it'd still be frighteningly witless. You just can't build this kind of self-correction into a system to be used for competition and not expect that the most aggressively competitive players will pick apart what you've done in a day looking for loopholes to abuse.
  • Yea, I just dropped out of the PvE event when boosts were jacked up. There was no way I was wasting my life intentionally losing 100 times in order to play the game.

    Hopefully they re-run the event, but if they don't I won't mind. Not a fan of the DD character and don't feel like wasting another 350 HP to keep him.
  • The thing I'm actually most fascinated by is IceIX's comment that they wouldn't mess with the difficulty scaling code mid-event because revising live code like that would be "too risky". He thinks they might make it worse? That remote electric shock delivery system must be coming along splendidly.

    Well, there is always the chance of actually breaking it completely, rendering the event (and possibly even the PvE part of the game depending on if things have some connection) not unplayable due to the skewed games, but actually completely unplayable.

As it stands many people are saying it is broken and yet the response was we didn't want to break it too much by re-balancing all the in game mechanics also. Isn't that now a circular argument, or in programming speak: while(true){ } which could have been avoided??

    As broken as this event is, we're all playing the same thing right now. So who ever wins will win the same game you and I lost. It's better not to change the rules halfway through no matter how messed up the rules are.
