The Ultron event is scheduled to begin tomorrow with some very specific rules. Can we get theses rules explained BEFORE the event begins instead of dropping them on us without notice?

  • We're working on it. Sit tight.
  • Not that I like to be thrown out of the plane before any instruction of how to use the parachute, but this is something new and it kinda kills the point of a surprise event if we know everything about it beforehand.

True, but 1) the cat's already mostly out of the bag; and 2) the mechanics mean those of us who like to play PvE but are in alliances where that's not much of a thing might need to find some new dance partners, and it's good to have warning on that.

It could possibly mean a big Alliance shake-up as well. Better to have some time to prepare.

3rd it directly conflicts with the end of the PvP season, there are many dual alliance players who could be affected

With the speculation that alliances are going to be locked for the event, the days of dual alliances is probably coming to a close.

I think limited alliance locking (like last 18 hours of an event) would be great, its a sure bet they will go all or nothing.

So... is there really going to be a new PVE event with new character releases that will go on during the off-season? I know it's happened before, but still seems like poor planning.

I sent a PM to David (Hi-Fi) asking if this Ultron event requires a full alliance since I am currently in a casual/not full alliance but may actually hit this PVE hard if the characters are worth the time, but haven't heard back. Just curious if this "Alliance" event for Ultron requires a min number of regular players to realistically beat it or if less than 10 active players means we're doomed from the start and shouldn't bother.

That's what I posted in another topic. Disappointed that there has been a code of silence among the Dev's, all the way up so far to the eve of the event, with no announcement concerning this rather major tie-in storyline to the Avengers movie. What's going on D3? Why are we getting info about the Ultron event only from outside sources?

No, no, no, it will start late on Friday afternoon in the One True Time Zone, will involve a complete (but broken in several small yet significant ways) reworking of game mechanics, and the devs will go home for the weekend leaving us to rant and rage while they capture "analytics" that tell them what a success it was.

Or perhaps I'm being too cynical.

Sorry, but I'm a hefty guy and sitting tight is not my friend. icon_lol.gif
