disheartened
This game isn't meant for us veterans. I've always been a little behind the curve. I've been playing close to a year and put serious hours into this game but every time I try to reach the meta the meta changes drastically. I missed the spiderman that should have been. I missed the power days of magneto. My hood was good but my sentry wasn't and missed sentry bombing. True healing was nerfed in my 2-3* transition. I just bought my 4th green xforce days before the nerf was announced. I just can't keep up with the changes with work and family and the daily grind. I started the x-toons alliance with high hopes and watched those hopes dashed as my high scorers have all become disheartened and quit playing. I still run a 120ish alliance but I don't know how much I have left in me. These constant changes have me disheartened. I will continue to hope this game becomes the great game it should be but I don't know if I'll be there to see it. Please stop changing the game devs. Please test the game more before making such drastic changes. I love this game and hope it thrives. I don't think I'll be there to see the what it becomes.

Hm, if this helps you feel better, you seem only upset that you missed overpowered characters. Overpowered characters essentially break the rest of the game, so the game you've been playing, is the balanced game. I think D3 wants to minimize the impact of character power discrepency so that the normal game that they intended, is the one that everyone plays.0

Well, obviously this is not meant to be nothing more than casual game that you toy with just for a short time every now and then. If you think there's more to MPQ you're fooling yourself big time. There's no end game. Balance of power shifts all the time. Every event is grindgrindgrind. Only sane way to play is either
A) commit your entire life cycle to MPQ
or
just relax, lay it back and do DDQ (and maybe some PvP every now and then). Never fret about PvE, it's usually too grindy anyway.
Otherwise you'll waste both your time and money and get no satisfaction whatsoever. And if your alliance is not constantly in top100 there is NO point doing A.0 -
Excellent choice of word to describe the current state of many MPQ'ers. All points that you made are valid and certainly agreeable, probably or should I say definitely, there are a few more out there as well. I think you just have to take a break from the game to get your batteries recharged and then return at a time of your choosing, if at all. Allow your alliance to become a casual one, not demanding members to reach certain goals but freely playing to their desire and willingness. Just stay on as a commander and see how it goes for a few weeks. This is just a game, there are more important things in life bro.0

Have you been playing because you've been having fun?
If yes then the rest of that stuff doesn't matter one iota. Games are about entertainment and fun.
If no then why did you continue to play for over a year?0 -
Yep, the game sucks now, but let's look on the bright side. Spring is here, it's nice out and you don't need to be glued to your mobile device over a silly game anyway.0

The game is only disheartening to those who haven't adjusted their expectations. You shouldn't expect to compete in the top levels if you have a family and a job. It would be nice, I know, but it just isn't realistic. I play the game for fun. I like the match-3 with Marvel heroes. I play about 1/2 the PvE's and maybe 1/3 of the PvP's. I've got a few alliances I can merc for if I want the alliance cover for any event. It's been great ever since I made the transition. Don't let the game burn you out completely, just make the adjustment you need so you can enjoy the game again.0

I always am amused seeing people talk about spiderman being unplayable because I use him all the time. Partially because he was my first fully covered 3 star, and partially because I'm a fan of his.
But, he isn't fast, he doesn't help your team win faster which I get, but boy is he great in Survival I also use him in PVP nodes as well with a partner with high offensive output but low health. But hey, to each their own!0 -

It may not be as corrosive as drug or alcohol addiction. And it may not even be something you notice on a conscious level.
But this game, and games like it, force you to develop a routine. The dopamine release when you hit the shield button after getting to 1000 points in a PVP, getting your 4 star cover...is very high. It's a physiological reaction to the feeling that you accomplished something that a lot of people are unable to accomplish.
It's a feeling that you wouldn't know what to do with your free time if you left this game. It's a feeling that actively bothers you if you tried to get to 1000, and got knocked down. Do you unshield and try again? Do you just let sleeping dogs lie? You'll think about it until the end of that PVP.
It's the rush you feel when you're rank 5 with less than 1 minute left in a PVP and the #6 guy just unshielded.
It's the pride you feel being the high scorer on your alliance, helping your friends get an additional cover.
It's the sense of accomplishment when you fully cover a character.
It's all these things wrapped into one big emotion of "I can't let this game go, despite it's frustrations."
It's psychological manipulation that so many free to play games are preying upon their customers.0
