[poll] The new X-Force

So the first PvP with nerfed Xforce has concluded and wondering via poll what's the thought.

For me...

I'm okay with SS, I miss the AP and still feel they should have left the AP destruction, even if you capped it like Kingpin, but the damage boost is very nice.

Recovery--obviously better.

X-Force--okay 2 things, you either need to increase the damage this does to say around 3k. Look at Torch, his 3.4k dmg feeds itself and it costs 8 the first time and 6 thereafter, yes X-Force gets more board destruction but the dmg is terrible, I think it needs about a 25%-30% dmg increase on it's base, and with cascades it would be okay then. Otherwise they need to drop the AP to 7 and it's okay as well, either one and then this skill becomes decent....

but.........

What I want to know is, if I gave you 5 of each cover and all the ISO you needed, what would you choose?

    Also missing the follow option:

Doesn't matter, I'm trading him for a pittance of HP and ISO

I could need more time with the new XF to have a definitive opinion but for the moment I'd stick with 553.
SS deals damage I want it to 5
Now recovery is a lot better while the damages of XForce are disappointing to say the least... but Xforce is still a very powerful ability for shaking board and it's the reason why I will keep it at 5.

I just have to remember that the role of XF wolverine in my team is now half damage - half board shaking icon_e_smile.gif

With 15 covers and all the iso I can carry, at current mmr, I'd keep him as is - 5/5/3 level 200. icon_e_smile.gif
For me, that would keep him as the best board shaker that can also do huge damage with his black in the right conditions. I'd like to still have such option on my roster, even if it is on average less damage dealt than his new 3/5/5 build. Plus, his CD to me feels too unreliable and unpredictable.

I asked Np to do a cascade analysis of the 5x5 X vs. the 3 3x3 X and see what the cascade and destruction potential is. If they are close then I'm going 4/5/4. If 3 3x3 is still vastly stronger, then I'll stay 5/5/3. The only reason I think 3/5/5 is bad is that you give the AI a better cascade potential with 9 tiles being destroyed over the 6.

All non-5 black answers are definitely wrong.

I like the 4/5/4 build over 5/5/3. It was only a couple of days, but I don't really miss the extra damage or the slight board shake advantage of 5 green versus the 4. The 6k heal (when mine is only 9k to start) has been a big benefit, and I've been able to use Recovery to deal the damage effectively.

If I had a max XForce I might consider 3/5/5, but at lvl 221, 5 yellow is pointless unless you use it strictly to deal the ~3k damage (and prologue heal otherwise).

Would be nice if the pvp featured didn't have a black power here, between Gamora/Quicksilver/Mystique it's hard to really gauge where he's truly at defensively after the change. Guys in my alliance are saying they've still benefited from him defensively, I've been using other options.
  • I have him at 454 and I definitely like it better than 553 which is what I had him at. Green averages around 1450 in damage with the cascade and yellow is 2400 damage plus destroys 6 tiles or heals 6128 which now makes all three powers seem more useable to me. I was going to respec to 355 but now I feel like I would be relying on just 2 powers kind of like before. Of course we're all just looking for some type of positive to this debacle.
  • I don't like his yellow at all. CDs suck, and the concept of a damage consolation prize to a failed heal doesn't help me much. Of course, my two other most used characters are Luke Cage and Hood - both have massive yellow nukes. So obviously I'm keeping my XFW as is for the time being.

You mean that's not what Recovery is for? icon_razz.gif

I voted 3/5/5 and would use Recovery in exactly this way, dealing damage with it in PvP mostly and healing in prologue with a single use instead of 3 sometimes needed at 3 covers. If the worst that comes out of it is my XF is fully healed by the tile during a PvP match while I collect more black, so be it.

And if I want green board shake destruction I will bring Groot now instead of XF.
  • Although I didn't answer this myself, the bench is the correct answer. D3 went way overboard nerfing XF, and many quit because of it.

He should still be better than every 3* and he isn't even a top 10. That's just pathetic D3
