I hate the goons

I just really really really really really hate the goons. First I think the pistol should cost way more. And threaten is the devil's work. Especially threaten I really hate when they get a good cascade and wipe my whole team out and usually they have the highest health. ****

Sorry I'm just really upset.

    Captain America.

Yes, goons suck, especially Maggia, just be glad when they're not feeding Hood enough yellow mana to twin pistol you on turn 3. Cap is about the only consistent weapon for them, although IW with 5 blue is probably a viable option now as well.
  • If you would tell us your ign and ally we could look at your roster and maybe give you some advice.

    Goons are simple

OBW, MNMags and someone with a full team destruction - 2Thor works for me even against lvl 200+ goons

Just priorities Blue and then purple

No reason at all goon only nodes shouldn't be free points

I used to HATE Threaten soooo much. Just recently I recently managed to max my Daredevil. Now, I welcome the Threaten countdown tiles. When they mature, I hit them with Radar Sense .

My name is NoGimmicks I'm in ThreOhFive. I currently have a dead Ares, Daken, and Capt. Marvel. I don't have daredevil and I'm broke in hero points and hero points and I'm a 2*player.
  • I hate evil. And broccoli farts.

However, I hate goons just about as much as I hate evil and broccoli farts.

I would cheerfully face Maggia goons over ninja **** any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Ninja **** has been the cause of more ragequits for me than every other MPQ annoyance combined.

Yes I also hate the ninja. Turn to smoke is a stupid. Who dies and their corpses turn to smoke and poisons someone. Sounds like something from TMNT.

The entire point of it is to whittle you down so that you have to use more health packs. THAT'S why I hate it. Not because of any specific mechanic but because they'll stack 3 or 4 teisetsu in a single wave and defeating them is just doing yourself additional damage. Meanwhile, those strike tiles keep striking, and in the next wave you get to fight 1-3 covered characters who are able to inflict ADDITIONAL damage...the wave fights, as a mechanic, are nifty. They are also challenging because the enemy has full health in each new wave, while you do not.

Resorting to additional **** to make them harder still is unnecessary. The AI already gets fed AP by goons - which carry over between rounds! - and has the aforementioned health advantage in the wave fights. Turn to Smoke is complete horseshit.

Threaten can be killer. Just another reason to look forward to Falcon, Hulk, Daredevil, and Loki.

OBW will help a lot while you're in 2* land, but if the goons are overscaled... luck is your only hope.

I highly recommend putting iso in 2* Black Widow if you haven't already and have the covers. She is top tier in 2* land and your only hope without 3*, really. She will save the day when facing goons. It gets even better with 2* Magneto.

Patch and OBW are goon fillers for me. I bring Thor along for some extra hurt and to not interfer with OBW's Espionage move.

With Patch getting 9 green, every blue, black or purple match will do double damage. So you could do 1000 for a black match and then another 1000 when Espionage hits.

[Edit] Gah sorry didn't realise you were 2* level. Get a Wolverine if you can to go along with Black Widow. Her best line up is 3 in purple, 5 in blue and 5 in black for the extra damage. You'd never think BW would be your heaviest hitter, but she can be. She's a glass cannon and best used against minions, especially since her blue will heal you and slow down countdown timers.

Just looked at your roster and it needs some work before I can give you really solid advice. 1st off you need to level CStorm, 2nd you need to re-spec OBW to 3/5/5 and level her, and 3rd you need to get yourself a MNMags 3/5/5 is what I'd suggest. Currently you don't have an ideal roster for dealing with goons and I'm not really surprised you're having difficulties beating them. OBW should probably be your 1st priority with CStorm 2nd, but that depends on your ability to gain covers versus your iso supply.

Thanks I will take your advice. I beat the cyclops cover node and I did it with the help of Ms. Marvel yellow. Then I used moonstone purple and red on the character enemies and finished the last enemy in each wave with daken blue. I had to stop using Ares because he kept feeding Animal inside and one of she hulks powers that kept wiping out my team. Though I am leveling OBW now and next I am leveling CStorm I might replace Ares with Thor since he feeds himself his own ap. Whereas Ares feed enemies ap. But after CStorm, MNMags and OBW should I start my transition?

If your main goal is The Big Enchilada in DDQ I can tell you I've been beating that with 2*'s since the beginning even though I now have a 3* roster. My go to team for that when it started was OBW/CStorm/MNMags and I now use OBW/2Thor/CStorm. Honestly it's not as hard as it may come off (I think I've wiped 2-3 total). The key is to hoard AP in waves 1 & 3 and unleash your power on waves 2 & 4. Just make sure you end waves 1 & 3 on an ability or match 5 so you get to attack waves 2 & 4 before they get to attack you. OBW is definitely essential to this to control CD timers in waves 1 & 3 though. Honestly it shouldn't be hard to get the same results with OBW/Ares/CStorm if you follow those tactics.

If you don't have all the top tier goon managers, 1* storm has a lot to offer. Two board shakers and her hailstorm which marks out a lot of board that goons can't make use of.

Never thought about using her that way. I'm going to experiment a couple of times. But I cannot wait to get Steve Rodgers his yellow is so reliable his red and blue helps keep his cost down. I will try storm though.

i hate that some thugs with a gun can even have a fight vs superheroes.
once you have the 2star black widow they shouldn't be much of a problem anymore though.
unless they're feeding their automatic ap into a real opponent.
