I like to play til I'm out of health packs, seems wrong to quit with them still in queue.

The last 3 events I get past 800 (once past 900) only to come plummeting back down from attack after attack as soon as i finish a match. The entire time I climb to 800 I, maybe, get attacked twice. I eventually yield out of fear of losing more points and frustration by throwing up the 75 hp white flag (shield) each time finishing with 775-825 points.

I would like to get more 4 star covers but I'll never make it 1000 as the swarm always seems to engulf me.

play 2 matches, shield, return in a couple hours, play 2 matches, shield, resist the thought of "one more match" SHIELD!

How are you shielding every 2 hours when there is a cool down period ?

They use all 3. I've never been a big fan of this though. Guess 1000 is unobtainable without it.
  • Maxed featured and maxed 4*s or top tier 3*s.

I just hit 1000 in Gamora with a maxed out Gamora, BP, and Hood. I've had luck getting up to 900-950 without shielding with maxed featured/hood and Xforce, BP, or LThor depending on the event. I try not to shield early because I'm stingy with the HP so I'll let myself get beat up from this point. I could get knocked down 200ish points, but it usually gives me a good amount of high point retaliations to get back up and push up to 1000.

And pick a timeshard you think will be the least popular. Maybe it's just superstition but I feel I have a lot better luck picking a shard that ends closer to a PVE close or has a late night/early morning end time.

With the new health buffs matches got way longer. It's an unfortunate truth. So grinding through the attacks becomes that much harder due both to match length and resources attrition (more health packs used).

Start earlier, and use 3h shields to recharge health packs, and just grind grind grind, get lucky on some defense wins possibly. If you get to 950 consider an 8h shield so you can then do fight, 3h shield, fight, 8h shield to end at >1000 points.
Lower-health characters trade health for stronger powers, but the health penalty they were paying was too large compared to how much stronger their powers were getting. This update lowers the health penalty they pay.

I really wish this had said "so we are making their powers even stronger" and not "so we are giving everyone more health". The XF nerf isn't that bad, switching around the usefulness of green and yellow on him, but this health "buff" is really a stealth nerf to EVERY damage power in existence. All powers got relatively weaker towards their intended targets HP pools. Fights are now much longer, and taking some powers to the face is almost guaranteed so health packs start dwindling. It's not fun. Taking in a 6800 health sniper that can do 7000 damage if you get enough blacktile.png while trying to keep greentile.png from the enemy is fun. Trudging through 30,000 health worth of enemy is not fun. ESPECIALLY because the AI starts with full health every match and you don't.

Assume you'll need three shields to make it to 1000. Sometimes two is enough, but it's good to have a backup if things go wrong.

Start early enough in the event that you can do your hops between 2 A.M.and 6 A.M. CST. Easy mode on.

anything past 800 pts is a fairy tale, like Feburary 33rd

Managed to hit 1000 under new regime. Took a 3h shield to recharge health packs at 750 and a couple marathon sessions of grind, but I made it. Overall I don't find the game more or less challenging, just longer, especially with the health change. You will take powers to the face, and you will eat health packs to make up for it. I did lose way more fights than I'm use to tho. Maybe not use to the higher health values yet. In the end it cost me 425 spideycoin.png for a Black Gamora I needed and a Blue PX.

Final 5 fights went straight for Hulk Bomb which works quite well with Gamora's cheap red and green 2 person stun.

The team I hated to see the most: Cage/Fury/290 Gamora.

Matches taking longer, more damage taken, (**** mmr?) and scaring vets away all results in fewer high scoring players, fewer targets and thus fewer points overall. If it weren't for some Crewsaders scoring very highly in our slice I probably would've needed another shield or two to break 1k.

Chris001 didn't time his last fight well and didn't complete his match before the deadline, costing him the blue Prof X cover. I see you came in 6th by a mere 17 points, didn't check to see if you were trying for one last match too.
