After all the recent changes I want to know who the best 3* partner is for Hood, in PvP specifically.

  • Who would you skip when facing against?
    That's him.

That is who I was considering running.
Glad to know others think the same (must be a good strategy if a lot of ppl use it)

3* Thor is a good choice.

Honestly, anybody is a good choice, though. If you have low cost abilities, you get to spam more. Yay! If you have high cost abilities, you get to use them faster. Yay!

A lot will depend on the featured, too. If you have a squishy featured, you probably don't wanna run Hood at all.

That aside, some of the bests I can think of are; Torch (spam gaining Green/casting Red, helps mitigate drain on Black), Psylocke/Punisher (spam them low cost abilities), Thor/Black Panther (get them team nukes faster), Captain America/Daredevil (though less so for PvP, but stacking them stuns is pretty good), Cyclops/Iron Fist (get their nukes faster), and Khamala Khan (you can use her abilities to erase colors you don't need and saturate the board with colors you do).

Some ifs would be She-Hulk/Blade (double dipping on the drains), Storm (to spam Black and Green), Magneto, Beast, or Groot.

If the featured is good enough (Thor, BP, Cyclops, IF, etc), there is the option of running Hood with Loki, too, especially while climbing, you'll get a pretty good amount of defensive wins.

If 4*s are an option, he works pretty well with a few of them. Invisible Woman is likely a good pairing, since she can throw out monster Protect Tiles and his Blue makes her be able to spam her abilities better. X-Force is still a good option, since he still has tons of board shake and damage. He could be good with Elektra, to help use Red and Black more effectively, but that's not really a PvP team. 4* Thor is bigger than every, now that X-Force isn't has powerful, also, so that's something to think on.

Luke Cage is big because he stops match damage which waddles Hood down to one shot him.
IF is good because of his attack tile, and fast purple to black. He might drop a 4k nuke on you before you down Hood.
I would also say it depends on who is buffed. After quicksilver if you have Mystique Maxed you could run Cyclops with Hood and nuke with Black. Hood really makes a lot of people better, but the question is who protects Hood the best. The people who protect Hood the best are Luke Cage, IW. Both have big Nukes and can negate match damage. IW can also make him invisable. From the 3* if you also have a really fast character Kamala Khan can be a big help with her healing. Again protecting squishy McSquish (Hood) is what you are looking to do.

    Excellent Contenders
    (in Order, in my opinion)
(All partners are listed assuming that you're using Partner ; Hood ; Loaner. This list changes significantly if one of the listed Partners is actually featured)

    Lazy Thor
    Lazy Cap
    Magneto
    Deadpool
    Khamala Khan
    Iron Fist
    Human Torch
    Luke Cage
    Patch
    The Sentry
    The Punisher
    Psylocke
  • I think Sentry's time is officially over with the HP boosts. Makes World Ruptures harder to 1 shot, even more so than usual.

I like Cap when you're playing, because the intimidations can bring back the shields quickers.

On defense, I like Nick Fury if you have him. Avengers Assemble benefits from the random Hood grabs, and can occasionally interact with Escape Plan. But this does leave Red & Green as dead colors.

Iron Fist as well, as it just creates a lot of annoyance for your opponent to sift through. Especially when Flawless Technique is leveled up to 5 along w/Domemaru(sp?)'s Aid. If you're hopping, that's usually one people want to avoid.
