Wait...points for nodes can go DOWN? For what reason?

Granted, it's only 10am on a Saturday morning, so I am basically still in a sleeping coma, but I could have sworn that my Deadly nodes were approaching 1,000 points, while my Essential nodes were over 1,000. Which I always make it a point to check and then giggle at.

BUT NOW......my Deadlies are at 800 and my Essentials are at 900.

Uhm, wat? I have never, ever seen that happen before.

Has anyone else? Is this old / well known news, and I just missed the memo? Something new? Or am I still asleep / confused?

  • Were you quite a long way behind the leader so you were getting some rubber banding, then you caught up and the rubber banding has now started to reduce? That's one way a node will be less than it was on a prior clear.

Or you are sleepy enough not to notice they haven't fully refreshed yet? icon_e_biggrin.gif

I woke up an hour ago, to grind my completely refreshed nodes down to zero, since my sub is about to end. They are now down to 700-800 points, so I guess it could be the "get too close to the leader, rubber banding dies," but yeesh..... I am still in 250th place. In what worldi is that too close? lol

There is rubberbanding in a sub when you are a certain amount behind the sub leader. I believe that amount is about 10k. So the strategy if that happens is to start clearing the bigger point nodes first since the bonus you get on any node goes away once you're within that 10k distance. Losing out on 200 points of rubberband on a big node is worse than losing out on 20 points on a small node, so do the big ones first.
