Yep, wouldn't want any significant portion of people actually getting all 3 colors for a new character.

How many in a row is this where the top reward for the PVE release, and the top reward for the first time covers came out for PVP was the same?

So who's ready to fight for some Quicksilver covers? Oh yeah, and that juicy Starlord at the Top placement! We're looking at the cream of the crop here, including that awesome Bullseye cover! Only competitive aspect I see here is the 1k cover is Prof X. So I guess there's that...

Don't forget Gamora cover @ 800. Mine is still 5/5/1 because has always been the hardest Gamora's color to get. So yeah, maybe I'll aim for 1k just for those progression rewards.

So character that no one has maxed yet as a placement reward, rare gamora black and prof X as progression rewards. I'd say these are pretty good rewards and your snark is not well placed here.

I just want my cover at 800 points so I can quit this PvP. Don't really care for Quicksilver but I know the devs will shoot me in the foot with the cover his PvP will reward.

Dammit, I forgot to push during the last hour. I was occupied elsewhere so I got to maybe 750pts only. Not even Gamora for me. Oh well. I got one Quicksliver cover so... yay?

Decided to go for the Professor X cover and passed 1000 points with 8 hours to spare. With less than 1 hour left, I noticed one more win would bump me into the top 5. I decided to take a chance and broke shield.
I lost that match horribly, swore to myself and reshielded. Then the defensive wins started rolling in, bumping me up to the top 5 after all.
