Not enough HP to recruit Quicksilver.... meh.

Well with this farce of a PVE ending for the first time in my 350 days I will be missing the top 10 in a three star release. However, with a single clear on all of the last 5 stages I am set to finish 100-150. Then comes this. Since I have been placing poorly I have no HP left for my 67th slot (850). I can remember two weeks ago at the end of the Khan event thinking "well I don't have the HP, I well I guess it's time to drop the $20 to get more, I will have to recruit kingpin too." Well with those 2700 HP gone (1700 to recruits 1000 to boosts and health packs during kingpin). I have 350 left. Two weeks ago I was willing to drop $20 without hesitation. Now not so much.

    Sorry, what was different in this PVE to make it a "farce"? Prodigal Sun is one of the best liked PVEs and this one was no different to any previous iteration. Also if you have to drop actual HP to help you place, I'm sorry but you are doing it wrong. Boosts are intended to be used sparingly, especially the ones that cost HP, otherwise they'll help you win too many battles that you shouldn't be winning and your scaling shoots to hell, making you need more boosts. (Boosts are best left for when you need speed, not power.) A clear symptom of you being too deep in now is that you also have to drop lots of HP in Health packs. You need to find a balance of what you can do without investing tons of money each event and leave HP for slots and shields. If that means that you cannot top 10 a PVE, so be it, a single additional cover is not worth so much sacrifice, especially if it leaves you with no HP to actually recruit the characters you earned. You'll find out that whatever money you invest and the HP rewards you get will stretch much longer.

    Lastly, why do you have 67 slots? Are you keeping every single 2* character including the **** ones? You could just let bagman or 2* cap america go without remorse to let new characters in.

    850 was all you needed? I made that and more just from Prodical Son, climbing 2 PvPs, and 250 reward from DDQ. You could always delete one of those MBW teams ups I'm sure you have if you're sitting at 67 slots.

    You spent 1000 HP on boosts and healthpacks? I'd say you have your problem right there.

    It wasn't a farce to me I got the red cover of sentry ( my fav char) then I found out I could beat a high level hulk with lvl 94 characters and later that day I got a green cover of sentry(because of DDQ). Honestly I loved the event but quicksilver i do not want and plan on selling once I get him after the event.

    Yeah, one of my favorite parts of Prodigal Sun is always when I have to face The Hulk on Thunderbolts mountain and bring out... Ares. He's just insane when boosted and makes short work of that gamma poser.

    Not really. If he spent 1,000 HP to get one or two kingpins in PvE, how is that any worse than spending 500+ on shields to get one in PvP?

    Personnaly I never bought one boost or hpack and been playing for over 520 days but I would say, delete all that you don't use in 1-2*, they are useless 99.99% of the time and the .01% don't matter. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    That would depend on what he got for those 1000 points. If he got 3 Kingpin covers solely due to the 1000 HP expidenture, he broke even compared to the 500 points for one cover. If he could get top 5 with the HP I'd assume he'd be able to swing top 50 without spending HP, so he'd need to get at least three covers to be considered to have "earned" two covers with the HP.
    I may be a bit biased though since I pretty much only use boosts when I am shield hopping, and never spend HP on more boosts. ISO yes, HP no.

    The 1000 is health packs and boosts was used to obtain 3 kingpin covers. Thought 1000 compared to 2500 was a deal. Also I have 67 slots because there are 67 characters. I am (possibly was) a collector. This was a farce because it is the third new character in a row. I would have called it that was no matter the event. As for the red sentry cover at the end I like probably most who have played over 300 days don't need the red sentry at the end. This is probably the 5th time I have played PS which means red was full on sentry a long time ago.

    Can't see anything wrong with that. Sorry I jumped to conclusions, but I have gotten the impression certain players overuse boosts. I might have done something similar in your shoes, but I decided early on it wasn't worth the stress to chase more than one cover on a 4* release. I'm content to hit top 50, everything else is pure gravy.

    Not a problem. I will likely take the advice here and drop one of my **** characters. Don't know why I hadn't thought of that. Mainly because the HP is always there I guess. Since the drop in boosts I have completely stopped using them. Can't accelerate enough to make it worth the while to click on them. Especially since they auto fill with team ups.

    I have had to make room for extra Modern Magnetos to sell for HP, so my next roster spots are already paid for (and likely refunded too...).

    The solution is a simple one - drop a 1* (or even an unused 2*), recruit Quicksilver, earn HP in the upcoming events, buy a slot in the future, re-recruit the 1* or 2* that you sold into the slot you just bought.

    Gonna have the same problem im close to getting kingpin in hostile takeover ,but it cost 800 hp for me to buy a new space!
    So that means its gonna cost another 800+ hp to buy a slot for quicksilver.
    Whats d3 thinking ?
    hp doesnt grow on trees
