PvE progression, are they even trying?

i understand there are multiple problems that currently need addressing but this seems like a few keystrokes, 3 minutes in a cubicle and plenty of time left over to return to using the company Internet for porn surfing. What gives? Top 50 is what it took last event and this event we have order members with 10x the required points for top progression.

For future reference, would you please send me an e-mail informing me when all I need to do is play the final day of the event for progression. It would be a kindness and really save me the aggravation of being constantly man-handled by your failed community scaling mechanic. Having your favorite pastime become just another a trial of aggravation kinda sucks, just sayin

I'm pretty sure the Progression Reward for this event is so low because of the fact they knew people were burned out from 3 new character releases in a row. I'm pretty sure it's their way of compensating and giving Loki's best color ability with it too.

This is precisely one of the things I hate about PvE. I can't get motivated to play for placement on a ridiculously bad character like bagsilver once I have the progression. There should be after top prize prizes to earn. After my Loki if I could get something even as paltry as another 500 iso every extra thousand points I get it would be something greatly appreciated.

Between this top progression for loki and the top progression last pve for kamala, this is still much preferred. The previous pve's top progression was set so high, most folks who didn't have kamala for essentials weren't able to reach it. Even those of us who did have Kamala pretty much had to play through the entire PVE just to reach it.

Between the 2, I'd rather have easy top progression than the previous obnoxiously high one, just saying. If quicksilver isn't enough motivation, makes it easy to be done earlier icon_e_smile.gif

They probably ran TaT PvE progression so hardcore just to shut up the guys complaining about there's nothing to do after you get your last PvE progression reward.

As I finished the progression rewards yesterday without breaking the top 500 in my bracket, I'm going to concentrate on other events now. Works for me.

The final progression reward is at an easily achievable value.
It's a fairly highly desired cover.
It's for one of the powered up 3* characters in a 4* featured PvE; meaning that even if you didn't get a Kingpin cover, you're actually being given an opportunity to still tackle about half of the Required Character nodes.

Exactly. The progression rewards should be achievable with or without the essentials. The essential nodes should be helpful for scoring high enough to get placement rewards, but a progression that feels attainable is going to keep people playing in a way that a progression that feels unattainable, or attainable if everything goes JUST RIGHT and I don't get REPEATEDLY BLASTED BY OVERSCALED NODES would.

I'm happy with the progression in Prodigal Sun. I was profoundly unhappy with the progression in the prior event.

I don't understand why you are complaining. It's a free cover, great. It took you less than a day to get it, great. What's the alternative? You play a lot of an event, and you don't get a cover (KK Green at 65k pts). Please don't complain about something too easy, because you will complain about something being too hard.

Since you're playing MPQ anyway, it'd probably save you some time, as opposed to checking your e-mail, to just check the Event Rewards tab of the PVE. That will tell you if all you need to do is play the final day of the event for progression.

Ok, lets do one where almost everyone is going to reach it.

You guys [Devs] weather a tinykitty for everything you do. Any change you make (in an attempt) to strengthen your game is immediately subjected to harsh ridicule that at times has to hurt on a personal level. Honestly, if I were in your shoes I would seriously consider homeschooling my children on some days. It is not an enviable position to hold so I would like to offer you port in the storm in the form of a sincere THANK YOU.
What happened to this guy? I miss him.

^^^^^ Exactly! This forum has devolved into constant whinging and complaining and it's getting really old. I didn't feel like pursuing a top reward and instead started the PVE this morning, had the progression with two hours of playing, and am currently sitting comfortably in the top 150 for the QS cover.

And I certainly appreciate it. Got the last green to max cover my loki two days ago and have barely played pve since.
  • Doesn't seem like I will ever make it to 25 reputation so I too can deliver those stupid down votes to people for posting their thoughts. It Seems like fun :-/

I tried speaking up for the Devs, down ticks everywhere.

I complain about a glaring inconsistency with PvE progression, down ticks everywhere.

All of you tiny kitties living in your mothers basement down ticking every statement I make can kiss my tiny kitty.

    BTW
Why can I say tiny kitty but not suck my @$&&$&$? That seems a little tiny kittied as there is no real difference. Anyone else see the double standard?

Down tick away you tiny kitties as tiny kitties do.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Goldilocks principle.

I've enjoyed being able to take it relatively easy in this pve after the brutality of the previous one, since I'll be content with having only two covers for everyone's favorite kneecapped speedster. Sure, I hit the Loki cover after the first sub, but a pve like this is still a nice source of some extra HP per day, and I've been lucky enough to draw two Kingpin covers from the event tokens, so I'm definitely not complaining.

The reason I was complaining was about an inconsistency that caused 3 days of grinding simply to grind. Who complains about getting Loki? This is not the first time that progression was super low and though last event was the hardest to attain that I can remember, there have been others that were close. Since I'm not a mathematician I can't see the pattern but it fluctuates all over the board. We can't even set a general x2 or x3 progression goal as an alliance due to this fact. I stated that I would like an e-mail as an exaggerated point and an attempt to speak for possible others, not a literal statement. I'm in a constant top 50 and have to grind no matter what, thus the three days of grinding to grind comment. Three days of work without a reward, save individual 1 star drops, 20 ISO and ultimately bag of ****-silver in a 5 day event is unacceptable.

If you're consistently in the top 50, you should be getting HP for each of your sub placements as well. Plus, top 50 really doesn't take too much grinding. In the current event, 3 runs at full refresh values per sub and one additional run an hour before sub end should get you in the top 50 for most brackets.

Top 50 isn't a goal that I hope to meet, it's a requirement, a constant. You yourself say that it's easily reachable. That means the actual reward for top 50 (overall or in subs) isn't something extra to be added to the rest nor does it have anything to do with three days of only individual match rewards that leaves a player feeling like they are running a marathon alone with no water stops.

But if you play well enough to hit top 50 constantly, you will receive 1000-2000 ISO and 50-100 HP daily from playing the PvE that you wouldn't otherwise have gotten, plus the covers, ISo and HP for placement in the end, so it's not like you're playing for nothing.

I get it that you would like to get more stuff for pve's, I don't think anyone is opposed to more free stuff, but I think easily reachable prog rewards like we've seen for this event are actually quite nice, because those people who only care about the progression rewards can quit playing the PvE after obtaining them. After that, you know you're playing for placement rewards and the individual rewards for the nodes (which, granted, aren't spectacular other than the 500 ISO ones), and if that doesn't seem worth it, you can always choose not to play.
