The only reason to stay (at least for now)

With all of the recent veteran-crippling changes, I was on the brink of a rage quit (or, better put, “apathy quit”; Copyright 2015 by AionTelos), but decided to stick it out (at least for this season) because of my alliance mates, whom I now consider to be close friends and people who I speak with more than some of my “real life” friends. Not just about the game, although that does make up the majority of conversations, but comics and beers and TV shows and movies as well. I’m sticking it out for this season for them even though this game is nothing but frustrating now and, barring any fixes to recent changes, am going casual after this season. I can’t bring myself to quit altogether after 540+ days. Not sure what casual means yet, aside from just playing DDQ and the occasional PVP for a few hundred points (sans shields) and maybe some LRs.
What would keep me playing regularly (I’d need at least 2 of these 4):
1. Don’t break XF. I can live without SS draining/gaining AP, but his green is just going to be awful now, a change that was completely unwarranted for a 3* (errr, 4* star?).
2. Give back +3 AP boosts. The game has already been slowed down substantially with matchmaking changes, and even more so soon with hit point/health increases. There was absolutely no need for the AP boost nerf. You crippled EVERYONE with this. Vets used these against each other on hops, not for some advantage to “beat up” on 2* players. Speaking of 2* teams, they need boosts too. With PVE scaling to ridiculous levels for everyone, those boosts are needed for players to stand a chance against, say, a BP whose level is twice that of one’s highest leveled character (oh, another RotP? Thanks, I didn’t need that health pack).
3.Go back to the old matchmaking system. Have you looked at the feedback about this D3? The majority of players are not happy with this, including 2* players, who this was seemingly made to help. Yes, the forum only represents about 10% of players, but if you take the feedback here and apply the rule of sampling from any customer survey/feedback, you should understand that the majority of opinions here actually do represent the majority of the player base as a whole, give or take a few percentage points.
4. D3 needs to stop making reactive changes to accommodate one group of players. Everyone does not and should not get a trophy. There needs to be enough for top players (e.g., changing alliance rewards for 4* PVEs was a solid move given the size of the player base now). There are an overwhelming number of posts on here with feedback/suggestions about changes to the game. D3 should focus on one at at a time instead of six major changes at once: create a topic and/or poll and get feedback from players before making substantial changes. This creates buy-in from players (assuming D3 actually takes their feedback and suggestions to heart). More importantly though, D3 is getting feedback from people who actually play this game, something the developers clearly do not do extensively.
What would keep you playing regularly or in a competitive alliance?

1. Revert MMR to previous version
2. Respect the player base by following through on promises and/or adjusting to feedback.
1 is a dead horse at this point.
2 is a big issue because the devs have rarely been forthright with us and have broken their word on a lot of things.
The easy examples I can list off the top of my head are back-to-back-to-back new character PVEs and the requirement of vaulted characters during the season.
With PVEs, promises had been made because a competitive PVE to get one new character is draining and time consuming. It becomes especially cumulative when the new character is then, in turn, required to compete for the next new character.
Vaulted characters are a sore point for me because they insisted from the start that those characters would be "taken out of focus" and "not required" while vaulted. Awarding LazyThor and requiring him while vaulted could be written off as a mistake but they have done this about once a season since then, most recently with Ragnarok.
If we can't trust the devs to follow their own stated rules, how can we have trust to keep investing time and cash in the game?0 -
Ah, yes. Back to back to back PVEs. Should have included that. I'm still trying to remain optimistic about #1 since the change has not gone live yet, but agreed, virtually no hope for that one.0

The alliance family is the main reason why I'm waiting it out one more season, also the whispers of the alliance vs boss mode possibly coming.
i can deal with a useless xforce, and all the nerfs that have happened and will happen, I can deal with shields being messed with, I can deal with boosts being cut, but a couple things I can't deal with:
Week long PvE new charecter releases every week (or even every two weeks) I will no longer be participating unless it's a cool charecter I like(d) in the comics.
MMR matchaking (even in shield sim? Like cmon) - It's terrible, I get 166 teams after I finish seed teams? And I start getting hit before I even beat seed teams? The climb is literally not even worth it right now, and the chances of attaining useful rewards are propped on 3 - 4 times the effort it used to take. Especially for shield sim, what's the point of that? Placement means nothing, but my "seed" teams are all 3* decently leveled??? Why?
For me a large part of the fun in PvP was climbing with my lesser used charecters, or my not even fully covered charecters. I could try out new combos and just plain old have fun. I could find battles against teams that were a little unique and in turn use a unique team for fun. I wasn't a guy that attacked 2* or low 3* teams with xforce and whomever, I used other charecters against people who had much lower rosters.
For shield sim, since there's literally no point to it other than season points for placement (which I've noticed amounts to a heap for extra effort for 1 or 2 more heroic tokens, since I haven't been in top 50 for season for a long while), and I won't be getting the final 3* covers for progression, if I even needed them it's a real hard goal to hit, and not having a 270 GT to pair with a 270 XF there was nearly no point in trying. So I playuayed shild sim for fun.
So this shift has cut down charecters I use in my roster on pvp by 85%. So no point on roster diversity when I need to have my #1 team out right off the bat so I'm not hit. It's stupid, boring, pointless, and will be the main reason why I will quit if something doesn't change.
What a backwards move. I want to play and enjoy charecters. Smash hit for example, I had my maxed covered almost fully leveled hulk with optimal build, and I'd put him out with maxed 3* Thor (that needs 1 more yellow), maxed proper covered Hood, maxed well covered Ldaken, lvl 260 proper covered XF.....or whatever, didn't matter. I was getting hit with less than 150 pts, with any combination. sorry, that's "fun"?
I nearly quit because I was sick of hitting the xf / gt wall and was tired of using my same 2 charecters after the climb, now the "climb" is over after seed teams so I'm using teh same 2 charecters the whole pvp event? *snore* Count me out.0 -
If the developers quit being morons, that would help a ton. As a business owner, I can't help but think that someone is driving all of the insanity with demands for more sales... There have been many good changes made to this game, since it's creation. And there have been bad changes. But this last round is a pure nuke of stupidity. There is not one thing that they changed, in the recent changes, that even a majority of players agree was good OR EVEN NEEDED!
They told us when they were "testing" the multiple buffed characters per PVP that they were trying to get people to use more than "just their best characters". EVERY single change they made to matchmaking does exactly the opposite. Whoever is making decisions needs to pull their head out of their butt and step aside. They need someone with a brain in their head to be running things from here on out, or you can put a fork in this game - cause it's done.
The game has always has treadmill progression, which in and of itself is stupid. But now they have sped up the treadmill for veteran players to a point where they are running on the edge of the treadmill just trying to not fall off. I am pretty sure that we will all just hop off and go to a gym, where the treadmills aren't possessed soon...
#1 FIRE whoever is in charge of change decisions. THIS IS PARAMOUNT. Any employee of a company that isn't smart enough to know better, than what has been done, needs to go.
#2 Either change the matchmaking back or allow people to sell back individual levels from their characters (so they aren't being scaled to death because of 2 characters that are leveled up).
#3 FREAKING APOLOGIZE! You have behaved, as a company, in a way that makes people lose faith in your brand - unless you show that you truly understand what you did wrong and are fixing it.
If they go the route of #2 and allow people to sell back individual levels from their characters, that would make the game playable again, but it would show that they lack the mental fortitude to fix what wasn't even broken until they "fixed" it this last time.
It is not a complicated thing to understand...
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T "FIX IT"! If you do, you had better own up to it and fix what you did.
There were wins and there were fails before this, among the various changes... but none of what I had seen over the last year + gave me any indication that there was someone stupid enough, to make this mess, running this game.0
