Effort vs. Reward

Deadpool's Daily Quest:
5 missions + roughly 20 minutes of my time = 3500 Iso, 2 taco tokens (500 iso), one usable 3* cover (or 500 iso)

Blind Justice event:
Dozens of fights over a two day stretch of pounding a wall of over-leveled opponents + 225 HP for shields + ~1500 Iso for boosts and skips = match Iso, 50 HP, 2 tokens (500 iso), Black Widow cover.

I'm tired of grinding for days for useless rewards. PvE already does that. (E.g. Joined late for kingpin, top 50 in every side mission but top 200 finish. Uh)

Any advice on how to get a good rewards in the new system? Do late starts ever work anymore?

Details: I have a large roster (58) but not incredibly developed. Still no 4hor, no Kingpin or Prof X, singletons of Elektra and Star-Lord. I feel like I get sharded with guys who are much more hardcore than me, and so I'll never get the covers to advance to the top tier.

I got a Kamala Khan out of the 2nd token from Blind Justice and I just used my first 3 hour shield at 927. icon_e_biggrin.gif I think I did fine with the effort I put in considering I've been grinding PvE which I very rarely do.

How do you find worthwhile opponents to get that high? Are you just rolling 270/270/290?

I could only get to 650 with 170 Xforce/Fury (and Patch/BP as b-team). Most of the beatable teams I faced early on were worth 17-20 points, but still used up heal packs (E.g. 270 XF/4hor with 90 DD), and it took forever to get 500, when I started getting attacked for 30 point hits from maxed teams.

My 290 is Daredevil but I only have X-Force at 250 and a few others at 166 that I'm not using this PvP. I made it a goal to get Daredevil to 166 right before I went on hiatus after Luke Cage's introduction. I also don't skip every 290/270/270 I see since they aren't hard to beat and have been beating them consistently. I've been doing this since the supposed 166 wall when I only had characters at 130 and 270 isn't going to deter me either.

its not that they are they are hard to beat, its that for 17 points they aren't worth the time

I spend a good deal of time just gaining ISO and not leveling characters so I can just skip matches in PvP. I only have a stockpile of 55k ISO right now that I've built up over the last couple of weeks.
  • Believe it or not what sucks for you also applies to the guys you're grouped with in your MMR. While you're probably looking at a guy saying, 'not this guy again???' that guy is probably saying the exact same thing. Even with X Force currently being overpowered there are times where you can clearly see in an extended retaliation war, someone's going to break (or forced to shield) because the attrition does add up, and it's going to add up even more after X Force is nerfed so that he can't easily dominate on offense. As long as you're on the winning side, you'll eventually be able to break your opponents and get a decent climb going. And if your opponent broke you instead, well, nobody ever progressed by losing in this game.
