Revisiting my thoughts on recent changes.

1) The progression rewards tiers in Prodigal Sun seemed much more reasonable. I don't know if that was coincidence or in response to the issues I (and others) raised with the previous event, but I'm hopeful it's the latter. I don't object to PVE events, but if there aren't going to be additional PvAI chapters, the top finish rewards should be divorced from progression rewards. Which is to say, it's fine if the "essential" nodes are necessary to have a chance to place well in the event, but building a wall between players and the progression rewards is going to decrease satisfaction, not increase it. Players who feel a sense of accomplishment are going to continue to play the game. If their sense instead is "what's the point?" they aren't going to play and they aren't going to spend. Prodigal Sun has felt much closer to what I think progression rewards should look like than some previous events have. I hope that continues.

2) Not really sure what to make of PVP right now. Ranked in the 200s, around 200 points earned, and all I'm getting is a steady stream of opponents with at least one 250+ character on their teams. Before the PVP change, I could reasonably reliably hit 300 with an outside shot at 400. Since the change, it's been all over the place. The last two events I haven't even been able to get much past 200 points because I hit that wall where I can't compete with the teams I've been given. The two before that, I was in the 300-400 range. I'm not sure if this is just small sample size shenanigans, or if what I've seen the last two PVP events is the new normal and I should get used to not being able to reach 300 anymore. I like that 2* covers are the rewards for 200 points now. Lower-end players will find those useful, and those of us who are kind of tweeners will still at least get the same ISO out of them that we got with the previous reward tier. I just don't know yet how I feel about my inability to reach 3-400 points the last couple of PVPs.

I haven't even bothered with the simulator because what greeted me as soon as I entered was a bunch of teams I can't compete with. So...that Kamala Khan cover at 3000 points for the season that I was oohing over, I don't know if it's realistic to think I'm going to be able to reach (I finished with like 3950 or so last season, for perspective).

I dunno. We'll see.
