Possible recourse for unhappy players

Hello all. I have a suggestion that i wanted to pass on to anyone who, like me, is very unhappy with the current state of the game and feels that the Dev team does not value, listen to, or respect it's most dedicated and veteran players.

Whenever a change that is made to this game that i am not happy with, i update my rating and review of MPQ on Google Play to reflect exactly what is happening in the game and why i don't like it. For example, i currently feel that with the new MMR changes, D3 is valuing newer players over veterans. So in my current review, i talk about the fact that they have just about removed all value from advancing your roster. i also advised new players that (IMO) they would be better off simply not playing, but if they do, that buying token packs is a really bad deal due to prohibitive pricing and poor draw rates.

I did this because i believe that D3 values new players as a source of quick and renewable revenue. This also came out of a feeling of powerlessness...since i don't believe that they value me as a veteran.

So in an attempt to have my voice heard in some way, i have taken to Google Play to warn off those players that the Devs currently value more than me...but who will also be tossed aside when they are no longer a good source of revenue (drop in the bucket and all). If enough new players are turned away from this game before they even start, maybe my opinion as a veteran will again be considered.

This is NOT a call for EVERYONE to run out and do this. It is merely an idea for anyone who is unhappy and doesn't feel like they have a voice.

If you are unhappy, update your review on iTunes and or Google Play.

Best of luck to everyone (like me) still trying to find a reason to play a game that at the core, i still really dig.

easy...marc

I can see how leaving a poor rating would give a feeling of satisfaction to those who feel wronged. I cannot see how poor ratings will help enforce positive changes in the game. Unless its like the tiniest form of blackmail ever, "do what I want or suffer the wrath of my negative review!"

We need to chill, the game is still fundamentally the same and is still fun if you aren't trying to force yourself to earn everything all of the time. 80% of players in every event get no 3*s and have only seen a 4* from a lucky(?) token draw yet word has it that most of these people are having fun. Most veterans probably have thousands of hours logged into this game. That means for one reason or another they felt this game was worth thousands of hours of time, which is phenomenal for a freemium game and any honest review would reflect your whole experience not just how upset you are at the devs ~today~

Edit: This seems unnecessarily harsh upon a second read. The OP was more respectful than I gave him credit for as I was jumping to conclusions because of all the negativity flowing around recently. An honest review about how the game is not favorable for the long term veterans is a perfectly reasonable review to submit. But it should also encourage new players to sign up because they will love the first part of the game and only stop having fun once they are old and jaded like the average forumer icon_e_wink.gif

  • This is the kind of logic my little kid uses.

    Kudos
  • Maybe your little kid understands social media more than you do.

Does you little kid also come onto message boards and insult people who attempt to communicate thoughts and ideas with the community?

Exact same idea that I posted in another thread. There are different types of activism. Reputation for a private enterprise is important. Social media and ratings/reviews spur action rather than long essays on here.

No but then again he doesn't stand in the lobby of a business and actively discourage new people from doing business there while still doing business there himself.

It's also the kind of logic reasonable adults use, since that's what the entire rate/referral program is meant for. Your kids are pretty smart.
  • Thanks for the reminder, posted a positive review with my enjoyment of the game!

You should all refer to IceIX's post last year where he stated they don't really care about or value those ratings on Google play or iTunes. His post wasn't received well by the player base.
