Thoughts of a frustrated mid-level player

I just registered this account today to post my observations on the recent changes. Some background first: I started playing this game with the Steam release and have really enjoyed it, as my hundreds of hours played attest. I found it challenging to compete with those who had started months before me, but by fighting smart and developing a good 2* roster of level 85 Thor, OBW, and Wolverine, I was finally able to start earning some 3* covers. I still only have one 3* character who's playable, though, a Punisher at about level 93. All the rest have too few covers to be useful.

Because I enjoyed the game and wanted more roster space, I bought HP a couple times and had no regrets. Until today, anyway. Today, I'm so frustrated I'm on the edge of quitting. The changes that have been implemented lately hit me hard.

1) Because the offensive core of my roster has been seriously nerfed, I can no longer compete successfully in PVE events that were tuned for the older, tougher versions of characters. Missions I was able to beat now crush me. I could use boosts, I suppose, but...
2) The best boosts now cost HP instead of ISO, which I hate. Even spending ISO for boosts was something I never did lightly, since I never have enough ISO to level the characters I want to work on. HP though? No way.
3) Tanking no longer works in PvP tournaments, and my nerfed 2* and unboosted roster can't fight high powered players. I have to skip a LOT to find beatable fights now, but..
4) Soon they're going to charge ISO for skipping too!

The net effect of all this is that I feel completely ruined by the design changes that have been implemented. I'll never successfully transition from 2* to 3* characters now because I can't earn 3* rewards. My only hope is to get lucky standard token rolls, and we all know that getting the 3*'s you want or need that way is very unlikely.

I'm sorry that my first post is so negative, but I'm rather upset right now.

And again, I've spent about as much money on this game as I would on many mid-range retail releases, so it's not like I haven't supported the devs with my wallet. The problem is that they haven't supported ME in turn. Quite the opposite.

And now the ISO cost for skipping is in. Slightly raising the average ISO per PVP match (by 20 or so) doesn't make up for the fact that I sometimes have to skip 30 or 40 times to find a match I can beat when I'm in MMR hell.

Thanks, OP, I feel the same way. With no way to be competitive, I don't have any reasonable path to building a 3* team anymore. Mid-tier got nerfed hard.

Wow, this game is getting worse and worse. I guess I can understand why people want to cheat. People are spending all their time on this game to the detriment of all else. All their hard work is being punished.
