PVP- How are People Scoring 1500+ points

I am currently getting 1000 points in PVP events.

I see some alliances are having half their team with 1500+ points per member.

Does anyone know to get there/tips?

My experience: Once you become leader of the group, your point options are so low even with iso skipping.
So you hit a wall. You can grind small point values, but then you get attacked and no longer worth it. so shield.

Now you have to wait for people to catch up so you get decent point matches again. You do a run and hit the low point reward wall again. shield. Wait. Repeat..

How do you get those high scores!! (My roster is the same as many of these players) What am I missing, I would greatly appreciate it...

Thank you

I currently have 1550 points with over 16hr left on the event. How do I do it? Lots of HP, and lots of out of game coordination/help from my alliance and the other alliances that make up the "The X-Men" family of alliances.

Hell, my first shield was at over 1k I think and that was more than 24hr ago.
  • Ha! 1000? I get stuck at 500 if I'm lucky...

All my HP goes to roster slots. Can't afford to spend on shields. Is there any reliable method for us poor folks who enjoy the game?

Yeah, basically you need out-of-game coordination and lots of shields to pull it off.
What happens is player A lines up players B, C, and D who are worth a decent amount of points, makes sure out-of-game that they are shielded, and then attack. While he is unshielded B, C, and D line A up in one of their nodes. Once A has gotten his points and reshielded B hits A, C and D while they line him up, and so on and so on.
  • I like the defensive win strategy:

Use out of game coms to talk about other players' mothers.
    Shield.
    Everyone hits you multiple times.
Eventually, you'll have enough defensive wins to quick hop to 1500.
    ???
    Profit.
  • Really? I'm usually all for getting ahead, but that kind of **** distorts statistics, giving the devs false information, making it more annoying and difficult for people not in a top (whatever) alliance.

Hence the recent MMR changes and before that shield cooldowns.
  • Anyone in any alliance can install the apps needed. It's not like the resources are unavailable. It's no different than players of any other game using teamspeak, etc, to coordinate play in numbers. Plus, it's actually better for the community. Aldo, if I'm hitting my alliance mates, I'm not hitting you.

I mean, I COULD just stop doing that, go back to avoiding alliance mates, and hit some poor sap over and over again. Lol. I'm pretty sure that would cause complaints as well.

If you make it to 575, you earn 50 coins. If your alliance make it above top 500, then you get another 25 coins and break even for a 3 hr shield.

You are misunderstanding me. I don't 'care' about individual gain. I've done enough community games to understand.

    But lets be honest...
The ones getting 1500 don't usually NEED to get it...progression rewards stop at 1000 now, to get that high requires a stacked roster already (or at least the important characters)
and most importantly, when devs are datamining, it throws EVERYTHING out the window.

I don't care if you or some group wants to coordinate and work the system to get higher scores (don't pretend like that's not what is going on), but when progression rewards get taken out of wack and are impossible to get because a group from the top pulls stunts like that, I'm going to be livid. Most games are balanced around the top 3%ish, so when most folks (and forum users aren't most folks) are floating around 300-600 (with the new changes), all its doing it drawing things out of wack.

  • You're talking about a super small percentage of the players getting those scores. If that number increases, I would imagine that rewards will change. The top ten alliances will always compete well above the progression, and the devs know that.

That's out of 18000+ alliances. Lol

It's not about event placement/progression. It's about season placement and bragging rights. My roster is far from stacked and I am one of said 1500+ players.

I don't always agree with the choices that they make, but the devs are not complete idiots that don't understand how this game works. They're capable of looking at the stats and realizing there's a very small percentage of the playerbase scoring that high. I doubt that their calculations on where to put progressions don't take that in to account. In fact, they've stated in posts that progression changes are about making sure that the same % of players hit certain progression levels. So it dpesn't matter if I hit 1000 points or 10,000 points. I'm still hitting top progression and that's all that matters when the devs look at the numbers.

Keep in mind that every extreme score does bring up many others' scores as well since it provides a juicy target for everyone in that time slice. Thus, high scorers blowing way past the top progression reward means everyone else has an easier time reaching the last progression. So far it doesn't seem like the devs mind that much though.
