Yea, like I said when you posted your leaving thread...the writing was on the wall for the direction they were going. Seen it with too many games. Unlike you, I decided to ride it longer until I just stop playing naturally. That could be this week or it could be in a month..who knows. I know I am glad atm that I haven't spent on the game as ppl who spent real money are surely more frustrated.

Pretty sure it was thier New years mission statement to change the way they functioned and become more monetized. Sad, as its also the reason I hate f2p...because the point stops being to do what is best for the playerbase and becomes doing what is best for the pocketbook.

Is hearthstone on android? Was meaning to give it a shot if it was...though of course its very much pay to win . Want to know a fun NOT pay to win card based game? Eldhelm. And it is real PvP if u Want as opposed to pvm only like marvel here. Only thing is the layer base wasn't big enough and I got the best deck I could pretty easily. Up until that point it was a lot of fun.

If they would have been upfront and honest with ALL changes, I wouldn't be too upset. But the shady way they have gone about some of these changes is very discouraging. I understand that f2p games need to make money, and that's fine...but bending your consumers over and forcing them to take it is not the correct method.
  • Well. Gues their are enough new players arriving. Wanting to compete and paying to do that. And when they loose interest. There are other new ones arriving. It is becoming what we feared and have expressed at the beginning. Yes all can get to the top. But it is extremely tough and time consuming if you do not pay for it. But I think that the logs the devs got will not make them chance the road they are on now. The game is doing pretty well I guess....
  • Hahahah a friend just blew all his HP because he wasnt looking at the costs. "WHERE THE **** ARE MY HERO POINTS?!"
  • Pure greed to charge HP for boosts. With this, PVE is a money spinner(if someone actually pays) given the extremely high level bosses. I'm out of this game. Been good while it lasted, see you guys in other games! icon_e_smile.gif

hearthstone is PC only. It's more pay to get started, rather than pay to win. The cards given to you at the start can win you games but are incredibly boring to use. I dropped $50 on my 3rd day, but that just makes me have more fun with the game and it's only improved my win rate slightly. The game has natural progression to reward you with new cards as you get better. You cant just drop a few grand and be at the top.

You don't even need to pay to get started really, but it depends on how you want to play. I only really play Arena, and I only play something else when I don't have enough gold for the next Arena deck.

True. You could just play arena all day, but I like to play vs friends a lot too.
  • And I'm a whiner lol looks like the game is going right where I figured 3 weeks ago I want daredevil but just can't seem to find the will to play anymore to bad DD looks good
  • From what I can tell Hearthstone is good if you like the equivalent of Booster Drafts in MTG (though you can just do Booster Drafts in MTG too). Pretty sure there's another standard P2W format like any CCG where if you didn't have all the best cards in the game you shouldn't even bother showing your face and embarrass yourself. In theory you can grind all those cards too but that'd take a very long time.

I figure once I start doing well enough in Arena I could unlock more cards that way.
  • ...I won't lie, sold my Thor / Wolverine covers, leveled Punisher up to a pretty high level, now I'm having a blast. I just support him as he blasts away opposition, now that Wolverine's strike tiles are pretty garbage by comparison, Punisher is more of an attrition character than anything now, even if he can't heal, Green into Black typically sets up someone for a Red auto-kill, and for 8R I deal more damage than Thor now. I like the boost changes - getting a little tired of people relying on them so heavily, I only use them sparingly (mainly at the last ~15 minutes of tournaments I care about), honestly I'd prefer the all-boost removed or reworked. I also adore the one-chance-to-win change. That's the best imho. Hated losing points when someone failed 1-2 times to beat me, now this'll put a pep in my step when my team successfully fends of an attacker.

But to do well in arena u have to learn the real game lol. Took me a while to learn card tiers.

I'm still learning, and I haven't really played since the last balance changes. I did learn a lot from watching some youtubers and streamers though, to at least get decently proficient. I was winning 3-6 times each when it was still capped at 9 wins. Not great, but not terrible.

I think you are going to be the smartest of us all DDD.

I feel like an idiot trusting these guys right at this moment.

if i were smarter i would have played hearthstone closed beta instead. I joined the open beta and the game is amazing.

I love Hearthstone as well! We should play sometime. Tried arena yet? I can send you a link to draft guides so that you can do better.

hello there DDD. still hoping the dev gonna change more friendly to players eh?
this last change is definitely worst. 4 times i pick boost all 3 without knowing it changed to hp. cause i pick fast enough in the last minutes of tournet. lost 4 times 100 hp..f*ck.400hp for boost just to stay in top 5. then again. i also quite happy about my decision not to spend any money in this game, when the dev likes to nerf and charge too much.
i think this game is going down in the long run

The fact that a change of this gravity didn't make it into the patch notes is incredibly insulting to the playerbase. I'm not even talking about how egregious the change itself is - doubling the cost of small boosts, and charging HP for +All AP. If you are going to nickel and dime and squeeze, that is your prerogative as devs - and I'll play a lot less, and care a lot less about your game. But can't we be adults here? Implementing huge balance changes without discussion or even announcement is underhanded at best, and incredibly poor development practices at worst.
The part that really rubs me the wrong way is that I was only competitive in the broken Thick as Thieves PvE because I could afford to buy boosts with the ISO from the missions. I have a bunch of missions worth points right now, and for the first time I'm more interested in complaining about the changes on the forum than I am in competing in PvE for a new character.

I really miss Puzzle Quest 1 and 2 now, where you paid real money up front for a complete game that didn't suddenly change all the rules on you some random afternoon.

Ha! EXACT same thing happened to me. Ditched Thor and Wolvie and god the game is so much more fun. Focusing on two characters at the expense of a whole roster made the game a bit stale. Marvel Now Mags is just such a blast!! I had no idea!

Yeah, this game is way more fun without all the crutches I'd built up. Time will tell if boosts fall under the same category.
