MMR Question

My understanding is that pve scaling depends on how well you play the node - health in vs health out? plus community scaling. Is mmr affected the same way? The early seed teams - will I end up in a different place (mmr-wise) if I blow through those with high end guys rather than picking characters more comparable to the opponent team? I've always treated the ramp up in pvp the same as pve nodes - use what you think will win and nothing more, but I'm starting to wonder if it matters. If it doesn't the initial push in pvp can go much faster than it has been, but I have been able to play with different character groups - i.e. juggs, mbw, Cyclops (1/1/1) is my starting team. Thanks.

MMR is based solely on wins/losses as far as I've ever known.
